This years PL is exciting.

I thought Chelsea had a guaranteed top 4 at the start of the season, but how wrong could you be. (Not saying they're not going to get there, but their will be teams challenging.)

Anyway. Sadly, I don't see Newcastle getting there. They'll drop off after January as they don't have the greatest of depth. Then there's Ashley being jewish and not buying anyone with the fee he recieved for Andy...

Mole... Because people think i'm biased regarding french players, i'm can't really pimp Cabaye.

Please explain to the peeps here how good and important he's been this year.

Even if Cabaye was having a kick about with Jesus for the past month it really means zilch in the discussion we were having Sport. He hasn't been playing at a top level and he hasn't been playing really well for an extended period of time to be considered established like you were suggesting.

Ermmmmmm........

He's our playmaker( look at how much better Juve look with Pirlo) and does so much defensive work its unreal the main reason Tiote only has like 2 yellow cards.........

Even in games when we are not able to dominate the ball and therefore he isnt as effective he still does so much hard work off the ball and pressurises the opponent to make mistakes.....

Id like to see more of Marveaux and Ben Arfa which will allow us dominate the game alot easier but with the fact either are not really 100% fit and the form of of the first eleven its really difficult to drop anyone......

Performances > Names.

Juventus and Newcastle both show that this season, Juventus aswell have chosen to drop Elia, Krasic and Quaqliarella because they are simply not shown the form required......

That's absolutely untrue z. The discussion was the absurdness of Khedira being in the final 23 of the ballon d'or. Then babun asked who could do his job better. I gave a list that included cabaye. I never said that all the guys on the list were comparable. In fact, the only comparison I was doing was in regards to Khedira.

My point about Cabaye still potentially being a flash in the pan still stands though.

It doesnt really does it?

He has performed consistently for Lille for years, its not like Lille are some tiny club that have never graced european football.....

Great player absolutely delighted we got him and hes rich, handsome, talented......

No problem z... I'm not saying Khedira is not good btw. He is exactly what Madrid needs. BUT, he's not one of the best midfielders in the world, regardless of the system. Some of the names on the ballon d'or lost are absurd and he's one of them.

I know what you are saying but the Balon D'Or list is based on performance, Khedira preformed and is still preforming extremely well over this calender year.

I personally feel he deserves to be there.

I personally feel if Khedira deserves to be there then Cabaye does aswell.....

Lille's main playmaker and led Lille to League and Cup double for first time in thier history outperformed Eden Hazard.....

Gets a call up to France national team and is now thier main DLP, and part of the Newcastle team that are unbeaten this season and probably the main reason they are doing so well along with Coloccini and Krul......

Also unbeaten in close to 30 games for Newcastle, France and Lille together...

If Khedira has done enough to achieve a nomination then imo Cabaye should be as he has achieved a helluva lot more than Khedira over the 12 months.

It will be a nice thing seeing Newcastle finishing 4th so that only 3 English teams will play in Champions league next year while Bundesliga will have 4.
