EMD has leaked 34 out of the 50 players on the shortlist for the Ballon d'Or, no idea what happened to the other 16, i'll try and find them

Also, this is the first time I remember seeing a non-European player in the list (Neymar) in the past few years. Certainly a good thing.

As toothless as Forlan was with his club, he was the true key behind Uruguay's Copa America victory, so fair play to him to at least make the shortlist.

Thiago Silva and Vidic's absence is an absolute joke however. Busquets, Rossi and Valdes should also be there in the place of others as well.

Van der Vaart, Khedira, Robben, Casillas and Sneijder have no business on that list based on the performances of this year. Robben started something like 13 Bundesliga games for the entire season, let alone just in 2012, do these people even pay attention?

I am being serious here......

Cabaye deserves to be there more than some of the people on that list.....

How can a single Dortmund or Milan player not make the list?

Klose scored one league goal at Bayern Munich in his last season before transferring to Lazio. One league goal.

I honestly can't believe that some of these players have made the list off perhaps two or three months play...yet Nuri Sahin and Sven Bender aren't on the list.

Hernanes single handedly led Lazio to fifth and almost to the Champions League. Vidal was monstrous for Leverkusen.

Apparently all recognition of the Bundesliga must go to Bayern players however.

Well that makes much more sense.

Even if it's increased to 50, the names mentioned already don't deserve to be there, though hopefully this covers the likes of Thiago Silva, Vidic etc.

It is of course only a claimed leak, not official, however this sort of preposterous list wouldn't at all surprise me. Diego Milito won the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year and didn't make the shortlist last year.

Thiago Silva, Vidic, Hummels, Neuer, Valdes, Busquets, Rossi, Hernanes, Cavani, Lavezzi, Bender, Sahin, Vidal. Those 16 spots are being burnt up pretty quickly without thinking too hard. I'm sure there are others I'm neglecting at the moment.

Nesta and Ibrahimovic should honestly be in with a shot.

Without Iker Real Madrid wouldn't even make it through the semi final in CL or get humiliated in CdR and semi final tie in Nou... He deserves to be there

Khedira is one of these underrated guys tbh, everytime he doesn't play we lose stability and he is the one who brings comfort and makes the midfield smooth for us. (this is no joke, we desperetely need him when he is missing)

Although there should be guys like TS, Pique, Busquets etc there
