Bought Oblivion 4 a few days back, because I've finally decided to step into RPG waters. Which I've avoided ever since I started gaming, because I knew I'd get too addicted. Anyway...as an RPG first timer..you guys have any hints or tips ? I'm just at level 5 now..and kinda torn between either concentrating on the main quest..or trying to upgrade my character.

I'm playing as a Dark Elf Mage..and so I'd want anything that ups my spells and magicka..money isn't a problem for the timebeing..i can afford the spells I want, but don't have enough magicka.

What levels you up the fastest ? Finishing quests or fighting random being ?

Sorry if i sound so confused. But this game warrants all my dedication.

And should I bother getting all the Mage's recommendations ?

I did a lot of side quests before progressing with the main quest. I didn't do every single side quest, but I did a lot of them to make my character stronger. I played Oblivion 4 a long time ago, but there will be this one place where you will be able to create your own spells. I don't remember the name of the place, but it's the place where mages gather in the capital city. Anyway, you'll be able to create an invisibility spell. Since you're a mage (as I was) that spell will be really awesome for you. If you get Summons+Invisibility that's just overpowered

I hope there's no silly leveled loot or enemies. Pissed me off when poor as hell bandits came out in full daedric armor. That shit was hard to find complete in Morrowind.

Hm, not sure what to start as. Might go blunt weapons since I imagine a lot of neat axes in Skyrim. Heavy armor is a must because all the other armors are for pussys.

mate, heavy armour is thick as sh*t while some of that light armour is flimsy as, why would a pussy use weak thin armour and a tough guy hide behind a massive layer of metal?

With enchanments you can make your heavy armour weigh nothing or your light armour have the same defense as heavy armour.

played for an hour last night, its pretty decent. Never really was a RPG person, but I'm sure I will spend a lot of time on the game.

This. The only bonus light armor has is that you're faster and if you're a magic user you can use magic without insane mana costs (don't use magic in heavy armor).

This game looks so awesome. I'm incredibly jelly of anyone who is already playing it. I'd love to be able to get it on PC but on my computer is not that great for gaming so I'll just get it for ecksbawks I suppose

I hear it looks better on the PS3 then the Xbox, I don't know if thats true though.

getting Revelations over Skyrim
more a peronal choice since i have yet to play Oblivion and the ones before that
though it looks like a fantastic game

39 reviews in on metacritic and average score for Skyrim is 95. Amazing!

Skyrim is the highest rated game for 360 and PC, and 2nd highest for PS3. Cant say I'm suprised one bit.
