Arkham Asylum was an experience, a one that I don't remember. Fallout in the other hand is something I dream about, with stories (the side quests, as the main quest is usually poor) that can get pultizer prizes.
Regardless, we have a generation of gamers who fall for polish over substance, and then defend their choice out of bias.
Nonetheless, Zelda will be better than both. Mario is sure as hell is.
LOL WUT?
Arkham City was one of the best games i have played this generation along with Red Dead Redemption........
And it was'nt because of GFX ( which i could care less about btw) it was because of the fantastic story, one of the best combat systems i have ever seen etc etc......
While Fallout bored me half to death and i usually love RPG's.......
And iam not a new generation of gamer, i started playing games in 1993 i care about gameplay, story and lifespan of a game than graphics.......
I was disappointed with Fallout and Oblivion, so iam skeptical over Skyrim......Meanwhile i loved Arkham Asylum, so i cannot wait for Arkham City for many many reasons.....

Fallout: New Vegas had one of the best side quests I saw in gaming.
Arkham Asylum was a great experience, but shallow game-play.
As challenging as wearing pants, and has no replay value.
I will suspend my judgment on Arkham City after I play the game, but if they have not deepened the gameplay, I don't see it being fun.

Re: The Elder Scrolls
I agree it wasnt that challenging and not much replay value for people that dont want to complete it 100% and just complete the story........
But i dont agree the gameplay was shallow, its definitely alot deeper than Fallout New Vegas imo which is just an extremely poor mans Fallout 3 set in Vegas riddled with bugs.........
Just going to have to agree to disagree i suppose, because imo Arkham Asylum was one of the best games of this generation and definitely one i remember......
While Fallout 3 and New Vegas imo were overrated trash living off the name and success of Fallout 2 and actually felt ripped off by them.......

I didn't pay for Fallout: New Vegas, I played a friends copy.
I am most probably overrating the game because I played it a time there was NOTHING to play in the ps3.
Arkham Asylum however did not feel as great to me as it obviously did to you.
But that is probably due to the fact I was playing Zelda during that time, and Zelda is simply a superior game.
But, as always, I will remove my bias outside as I sink my fingers into AC. Here's for fun

Game of the year is already hard to predict
Especially difficult with the insane amount of good games that are coming out this year anyway

Re: The Elder Scrolls
Main quest 30 hours long, then 300+ hours of side quests afterwards....
Not forgetting the new Radiant Story/AI where your actions determine how in-game characters act or how quests pan out, meaning no two playthroughs will be the same. What more man could a man ask for?

Re: The Elder Scrolls
anyone a bit sceptical about the two hand fighting system, i mean it looks a million times better for magic but wuld you really use two swrods or an axe and a sword etc as your main weapons, personally i cant see myself changing from the combination i bossed oblivion with, sneak on ppl with a bow but also have the sheild equiped and use the bow kill as many as possible, and when theres too many tog et them all with the bow flick over to a long sword (hotkeyed) and kill the rest with that
sword+sheild+bow+sneak=boss
sword+sheild+bow+sneak=boss

Re: The Elder Scrolls
Been playing elderscrolls since morrowind....
And btw the ONLY system you should be buying elderscrolls for is the PC because the main game along with the mods (texture packs, more quests, more enemys...you get the point) is what really makes the game shine alot.
Especially if you played oblivion or morrowind you will know. If you get it on console I can see the game getting boring very fast after the first play through just my opinion.
PS final fantasy SUCKs now I was a fan boy since 7 but after 10 it sucked hard!! I hated 13

Skyrim went gold today, I week before release, so prepare for loads of spoilers.
Plus, info about your character being able to get a female companion early in the game got leaked. Here's a pic of her..

Re: The Elder Scrolls
So after playing the game for about an hour, i'm level 5 and I just slayed my first dragon.
All I can say about the combat system is that it is much better than Oblivion.
But it still seems a bit sloppy, however I asked a buddy of mine who's level 24 and he said it gets much better as you upgrade your skills.
