Been playing it for the best part of 5 hours and i have to say its fantastic, ill be shocked if this isnt one of the GOTY nominations come the end of the year......

Gliding around the wonderfully detailed city and beating up thugs is worth the price of the game alone.......

Is it worth it to play the game not in HD, or should I wait for a leave to go back to my large HD TV back home?

I havent played any 360 game in standard def since Assassins Creed 2 and that hurt my eyes lol, so i would wait until get HD tv back, mind you i hate playing games in standard definitions that are meant for HD.....

I guess I probably wouldn't enjoy it as much playing on a box TV. I played Arkham Asylum in a box TV and it was nothing special. I guess I will wait, I have Kirby and my SNES games to keep me busy.

I am also conquering the world with the Spanish at the moment.

Just bought the game because of you guys, should be receiving it tomorrow, hope it lives up the expectations Mole has created

Not a fan of Batman in general, but I tried the demo for Arkham Asylum and simply didn't enjoy it.

bought it and got the batarang controller all for on 70 us dollars

On that subject, has anyone tried the GL game? I've heard it's actually worse than the movie but I struggle to see that as a realistic possibility...

RedOranje, as a rule, games based on movies always suck. They're pretty much cash cows for dumb kids who watch the movies and feel like playing a similar game.

I have seriously not played a single quality movie game, ever.

I'm talking about those games that usually come out simultaneously with the movie, not quality ones that might come out years later.

A 6.1 scoring average. Its a movie tie-in game, so it was never going to be a good game.

The movie was disappointing at best. Let's leave it at that.

Well now I'm at an impasse. I was thinking about trading in DC Universe Online to get Arkham City but apparently DC has gone free-to-play... not sure what to do now.

Keep DC until you get bored off it. Save money, and play SNES games using an emulator and my gaming guide

Game Of The Year for me till now. Yes, beats Gears Of War 3, LA Noire and FIFA 12. Battlefield 3 and Uncharted 3 might beat it though.

On second thoughts, I think I pick this over Gears 3 because Batman is my childhood hero and my favourite superhero of all time

Definitely the best games of the year this year so far imo are Gears 3 and Arkham City i would hate to have to choose between the two as they both great i really dont know what to pick.......

Gears 3 is probably the more complete package with Campaign, Horde, Arcade, Beast and Versus but Arkham City's story is just too damn awesome.....

Personally i believe the 5 game of the year nominations will be Gears 3, Arkham City, Uncharted 3, Skyrim and Legend of Zelda :Skyward Sword......

I suppose BF3 and MW3 could get there on hype alone but as an overall gaming package they will be nowhere near the 5 i mentioned imho.....

Because you are seeing through the characters eyes and not the characters themselves, the audience grows tends to grow less attached to the character and so there is usually less character development. If you look at the games of the year awards by different magazines (from the last 3 years), you'll see Red Dead Redemption, Mass Effect 2, Arkham Asylum, Uncharted 2, GTA IV and Assassins Creed II make up the majority of the list

So I don't think BF3 or MW3 will win game of the year

I will agree, while i do think Gears 3 will get tonnes of nominations i do think the winner will likely be Skyrim i see the overall hype of that game catapulting it towards GOTY......

Herp Derp Gaming critics. Those guys get paid to give good reviews. Go check reviews lately. Every game is amazing now if they are to be believed. That's not true.

The game is crap and this isn't just my opinion. It's the opinion of anyone who is bored with generic brown shooter 2654.

I'm sorry if we have different opinions bro but I think games should do more than pretend to be good by having multi million dollars ad campaigns. It's the same reason Transformers makes a lot of money but no one actually believes it deserves an Oscar. So long as crap like Gears is what we consider GOTY for games the medium will never be taken seriously.


Games should be fun and engaging. Gears is neither of those things.
