The game is crap and this isn't just my opinion. It's the opinion of anyone who is bored with generic brown shooter 2654.

I'm sorry if we have different opinions bro but I think games should do more than pretend to be good by having multi million dollars ad campaigns. It's the same reason Transformers makes a lot of money but no one actually believes it deserves an Oscar. So long as crap like Gears is what we consider GOTY for games the medium will never be taken seriously.


Games should be fun and engaging. Gears is neither of those things.

I do find it fun and engaging tho and i dont find it generic, there is nothing like it on the market( accept poor copycats like Vanquish)

Please dont compare Gears to Cod and Halo because they are nothing alike, the people that usually call Gears generic and brown shooter 109890( theres lots of colour in Gears 3 btw) usually are people that dont give the game a chance and have hardly played it......

If Gears is generic then so is Uncharted, Mass Effect etc etc because there alot more games like Uncharted and Mass Effect on the market then there are Gears........

I am sorry bro i just dont agree, i dont see how a game can be generic when there is nothing like it on the market, its definitely unique and a pioneer( how many games before Gears 1 had a cover system that allowed you to move seamlessly from cover to cover?)

Now they all have it.......

Uncharted, Mass Effect, GTA, Red Dead etc etc u name it......

Also iam sick of shooters aswell which is why iam not buying BF3 or MW3 but Gears i love for many reasons taht you cant truly understand until you play for it for a consistent amount of time......

Infact Gears 3 is the only shooter i bought this year, because it isnt generic and boring like you say, these comments are usually coming from people that just watch screenshots and videos and havent played the game.....

One game that might get a sneak win is Dark Souls, the gameplay ins that game is as solid as gameplay gets.

A game that rapes you, and you will enjoy that.

I will agree with that, but at the same time iam getting the feeling that just Portal 2 ( unfortunatly) it will just be ousted........

I have not played Dark Souls, will get it when price decreases. Am gonna get Battlefield 3, Skyrim, Uncharted 3, Assassins Creed: Revelations, Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3.

Also what a year for FPS eh? Killzone 3, Crysis 2, Deus Ex (if you count it as a FPS, more of a RPG), Portal 2 (once again more of a puzzle game), Resistance 3 and Battlefield 3 and MW3 coming up.

Portal's greatest weakness is that it lacked the WOW factor portal 1 gave us. It created too big a hype to live up to, and it was a short game.

As for Dark Souls, remember that Demon Souls which is an inferior game to it won many GOTY awards.

Out of all the games out there, it probably have the deepest gameplay and the toughest challenge.

Zelda is a favorite simply because Nintendo is a perfectionist. Skyrim is an unknown factor, it can be great but if it is half as glitchy as Fallout then it will miss out. I can't see any FPS winning simply because they don't get respect for innovation.

Arkham City might get shout, but games that are licensed from other media rarely and might have never won. Original content is always a plus.

Regardless, I am happy about all the quality games this year, especially after two semi-barren years. I will give my own opinions of the games I play and would cot care about the GOTY award. Would love Nintendo to win though, if only to further increase Nintendo's effort to keep the Apple out of the gaming world.

Tbf, while original content is a plus and fps probably wouldnt win because of no innovation......

But Zelda is hardly original and dont innovate much......

But its so great that it dont matter and when you look at the best games of this year......

Most of them are sequels so are not really original and dont innovate much....

Just completed it and definitely the best single player experience i have played this year and theres a boss in the game which they didnt reveal leading up to release and tbh it shocked me.......

Anyway i have completed the story 100% and i have only completed 37% of the game LOL, lots of work to be done to get the 100%....

BUY IT!

i've been consentrating a lot on the collectibles and side missions which has taken up a lot of my time, some of the riddler challenges are well hard.

storywise pretty much at the end, just landed on the floor after protocol 11 was enacted and "somebody" got impalled on the arkham city sign.

highlight so far would probably be the deadshot missions or the madhatter mission.

downloaded the catwoman pack before i started playin which cuts from batman to catwomen after certain missions are done, breaks up the game a bit and gives a different perspective to the story.

unfortunately started the game on easy, so now i gotta do it all again on medium to unlock the single player + mode.

I have just got this, will play it later on. Hopefully it's as good as people/critics have been saying. Looking to complete it before Uncharted 3 comes out.

T'was Awesome!

Completed the game today. Fan-fcking-tastic. My game of the year.

Everything was flawless, apart from some parts in the game where you don't know where you are meant to go. I wasted a lot of time at some parts trying to figure where to go to next, other than that, the game is very addictive and great.

The combat system is still the best I have ever played in any game...... ever.

rented it out, this game is the real ish.

deserves its 10/10 rating

p.s: too bad couldn't play as Catwoman cos I didn't have the code...

get arkham asylum tomorow, think ill wait till game of the year edition of city comes out.

just finished it,disappointed with the characters and the ending,but it was good overall.

the Mr. Freeze boss was very smart and memorable.

ps:watch the ending of the video,pretty sure there will be a sequel

I reckon the sequel should be set in Gotham City

And you can go to the Batcave and drive the Batmobile and Batwing

Oh and I must reiterate my stance on the game

Yes. Game rolls back. I wanted to let Batman die but they didn't let me

I just found out today that my 5 year old niece not only plays this game on PS3, but she is a boss at it. Is it just me or is that impressive? I knew she played games on the Wii (Super Smash Brothers and games like that), granted I never played this Batman, I'd like to think playing it can't be that simple for 5 year old.
