Re: Who is the best player in the world today for both club and country?
no discussion really..
lets take a look at his statics since his first top-flight league season until now
2003/04 (real zaragoza, 30 games 17 goals)
2004/05 (real zaragoza, 30 games 18 goals)
2005/06 (valencia cf, 35 games 25 goals)
2006/07 (valencia cf, 35 games 21 goals) as a left winger that season
2007/08 (valencia cf, 32 games 22 goals)
2008/09 (valencia cf, 57 games 49 goals)
2009/10 (valencia cf, 48 games 34 goals)
2010/11 (barcelona, 63 games 34 goals) as a left winger that season
*2011/12 (barcelona, 21 games 14 goals) again as a left striker
50 goles in 80 games for the spain NT
topscorer in every qualification round since 2006 for the spain national team, topscorer in every tournamant for spain since the world cup of 2006 and topscorer of the whole tournament in 2008 and 2010 (together with 3 others)
cant compare his performance with that of a midfielder or defender, but the best striker for both club and country is without a doubt this guy. if i would pick one player then also i would choose him, but then again i already told that it is hard to compare him with other players in other positions.
who am i talking about? david villa aka el guaje

Lahm and Schweinsteiger are far more irreplacable and since switching flanks Lahm has been a beast.

goetze cannot replace Ozil, he adds something different than ozil. But ozil is also one of the irreplaceable in Germany after Schwnie. His vision, creativity and passing is worldclass.

You know that it was not serious thread.SaintJoe wrote:billionmillion wrote:
Your IQ is below avarage. without midfielders? or without midfielders, defenders and goalkeeper? without a team would be better sentence. nobody would perform better than messi if he played for argentina instead of messi. but instead messi would perform better than anyone if he played for the teams that you mentioned
Who cares about midfielders, defenders or goalkeeper? Messi should be able to win the game by himself, else he's trash. Who cares if the defense is bad? If Argentina loses, it's his fault. Isn't that what you said about Ronaldo yesterday? Why is it any different now?
Show me any player from your list who performed better than this for his country
Bunch of players who get credit thx to their N teams success, but in reality messi eats them alive in NT

Unless Argentina plays Germany, then Messi gets nicely neutralised by Schweinsteiger. Seen that, been there, got the T-shirtbillionmillion wrote:Bunch of players who get credit thx to their N teams success, but in reality messi eats them alive in NT

LOL, thoughts exactly.Crimson wrote:_LMG_10_ wrote:Leo Messi and Xavi Hernandez hands down. Is there even any question?
I've never seen two players perform so consistently at a high level for both club and country.
A lot of you will obviously say that Messi doesn't perform for country, but that's just because you don't know anything.
lmfao
The top 3 are Xavi, Ozil and Villa, IMO. There are many others who can challenge them, of course, like Schweinsteiger, Silva, Casillas, Suarez, etc. But these are my top 3.

I can post ton of matches that other players failed. watch the video that ganso posted, messi plays in defence not in attack. he can not dribble from his own defence and score a goalrwo power wrote:Unless Argentina plays Germany, then Messi gets nicely neutralised by Schweinsteiger. Most of you pick Ozil as your top performer for national team. Lets see who performed better. example world cup 2010
now watch messi's world cup (its not available on youtube because its too good for youtube)
http://www.viddler.com/explore/unloosener/videos/2/
Even biased man can see that Ozil didnt do 50% of what messi did even though ozil was always unmarked compared with 2-3 man marked messi. yes he scored a goal but heinze also scored so it doesnt matter. Now i understand you say Ozil better performer for national team because of his national team level, but in reality messi owns all

Bastian Schweinsteiger, Xavi, and Mesut Ozil. In that order.

Özil's stamina and performance for the German NT have gone much up nowadays. And look at the topic - it says "today" not "in 2010".billionmillion wrote:Most of you pick Ozil as your top performer for national team. Lets see who performed better. example world cup 2010
