What as a club can Athletico Madrid do? it's their fans (not all) that are moral-less .

It's like the 5th incident in 2011 of their fans doing such things, it's on the club to make sure it doesn't happen at all
They apologise to save face and do nothing to stop it from happening again, disgraceful imo

How about during the game get those fans, evict them and ban them from future matches, don't see how it's so difficult considering it's something every other club in the world does.

Do club officials physically view these individuals saying these things? Or do they just hear about it afterwards? How do you punish a guy for something you didn't see or have any evidence of?

Re: Just when you think Atletico Madrid could not sink any lower as a club
I work part time as a Guest Relations member for a professional sports team in the states... We each have our own section of the stadium and it is our job to monitor the section, actively walk around and listen for foul/abusive language from ANY fans, home or away. It's really not hard to pick people out that are being disrespectful and swearing. We give them a warning, and if after that they continue they get ejected from the game. Honestly, if this continues to happen then it is quite obvious that Madrid either A) doesnt have the adequate staff to stop the chanting/abusive behavior (we have about 300 game day only staff at every single home game, most dedicated to this very purpose) or B) they just don't care.... Hard to say....
Although I really cannot imagine that it would be THAT hard to pinpoint an entire group doing abusive chants...

Not really clubs fault.
Though they have a history of these type of incidents (very bad ultras) so they should have prevented it from happening almost every matches.

You can eject them for swearing? That sounds crazy.

Happens at any sporting venue here in Melbourne now, you can even report it via sms and have the ushers come and escort the people out near you.
The fact is Atletico often have racists chants almost every home game and reported incidents at least once a month, they should be doing more about it, but they don't.

Today or a few daus earlier a similar story happened, Spurs fans on twitter told Wilshere they hope his new born son dies of desease. DISGUSTING.

Re: Just when you think Atletico Madrid could not sink any lower as a club
Just by the replies I can tell that most of you have actually NOT gone to a game in Spain, let alone in Madrid. Its very easy to read the news and get on your high horses. The racist chants underlines the problem in the culture of the whole nation. I have been to many games around Spain, unfortunately you can inevitably hear certain sections of the crowd making racist remarks. I have been to the Bernabeu, depending on where you sit, you will definitely hear racists remarks towards players who are black etc. In fact out of the stadiums that I have been to, the most problematic ones are Camp Nou (only been there thrice) and Sanchez Pizjuan (been there about 5/6 times).
I dont endorse such chants, but it is part of the cuture in Spain, so stop picking on Atleti as the only culprit.

this is decided by whoever is working a particular section. No ones going to get kicked out for dropping a few swear words... but if it is excessive, after every single play, or directed towards other fans then yes, they are subject to ejection. It is really aimed at preventing negative abuse towards opposing fans who may be sitting nearby, and the overly drunk people who drop F-Bombs every other word. No one really wants to hear that.

Re: Just when you think Atletico Madrid could not sink any lower as a club
Arsenal fans singing "It should have been you in Angola" to Adebayor is just as bad IMO.
Pathetico and Shitvilla are scum clubs with scum fans. I'd suggest to ban both supporters from all of their games but seeing as how their stadium's are half empty anyway it would be redundant.

Re: Just when you think Atletico Madrid could not sink any lower as a club
people who got to football matches for a top level club will know that it is not hard to catch these sort of people
from the Arsenal matches I have been to anyway there is an usher or security person everywhere
so really if disgusting incidents are happening all the time its simply down to the fact that they dont care all that much

Every club has scumbags amongst it's support. Never judge a club or an entire fanbase by the actions of a small group of mentally challenged individuals.
