We weren't bad facing them before. Now they've come off of a tough draw and we'll be at home knowing the stakes are high.

I would take a draw, Man City have too much fire power, Ramsey on the wings and we could lose big.

Ramsey should be send to reserve, since his return we have been playing like shit.

The pressure is on city to win, their away record is awful. If we turn up and play well we can get the 3 points.

Pressure on both Arsenal and City for that game, assuming United are 8 points clear come kick-off and Spurs are 3rd.

Sunderland away is hard though, pray O'Neil gets another great result v Spurs.

If we had won the QPR game then a draw against City would have been a good result. But since we lost we have to get back on track as soon as we can.

I see no reason why we cannot beat City. They aren't in great form and their away record isn't great. If we play like we know we can we'll win.

I hope we start Gervinho and Oxlade give Walcott the much rest he needs. Very Happy

I just don't see Walcott making an impact against Clichy. His crossing has been good recently, but with Kompany at the back, we won't have much success in aerially. We're better off going with the trickery and intelligence of Chamberlain on the flank who can face up to defenders and take them on.

The thing you have to consider when looking at goalkeeping stats is the defence in front of the goalkeeper.

Man City have had a settled backline for most of the year yet Hart has faced 111 shots.

Arsenal have had to change their backline a lot and endure a period with no fit fullbacks, yet Szczesy has faced the same number of shots as a keeper with a settled backline in front of him.

The stats don't reveal the quality of the shots on goal, either. Szczesny might have a lower save percentage but that doesn't necessarily suggest he's inferior at saving shots. It could suggest that due an unsettled backline, he's having to deal with more shots that he's not expected to save, and possibly more unsaveable shots from distance.

i know
i was thinking even fabianski(if he was playing for another team in this league might have better save percentage)
but as you said there is difference
surely he needs to improve on that manner
but there is difference being great shot stopper and great all round goalkeeper who is commanding right with timing to come out of his line and catch crosses lead his defence and organise them well and give them confidence
woj gonna be one with experience cheers
yeah im also cryng for a settled backline that play majority of season along side each other and with great understanding amongst them but injuries :vagi:
---------------
also read this one on Aguero(whether he makes it for sunday or not

I think we can also take into consideration defensive mistakes this season that lead to goals. We made 22 iirc. Maybe they didn't all lead to goals. Or maybe tehy did. Damn i can't remember...

a stable/fixed back line doesn't necessarily mean a good defence. every player has a weakness and nowadays teams exploit those weaknesses more. a dynamic defensive set up is more efficient which address the oppositions threat. understanding between the defenders is not a problem after they know each others strengths and weaknesses.
what QPR did was just that, they knew arsenal lacked width and they were watchful when arsenal played through the middle. In Ferdinand they had a brilliant header and stopped those over the top long balls from song.
Now city have dribblers and if arsenal play the current set up of kosci and vermelan it would work, they usually are fast going forward and arsenal need to be on the toes. gibbs and sagna would be perfect. i am confident arsenal will win.

Niceee, we're in-between the Barcelona fixtures.

The best possible thing that can happen is Chelsea getting a result in the first leg at home, and thsi will surely see Abramovich force Di Matteo to rest some of his key guys against us.

I'm not so sure they would. Under Villas-Boas, maybe, but under Di Matteo they've become a really solid team that's not so easy to break down anymore.

We have to make sure that we're in good form going into that game.

A draw will be good enough if not a win.

as long as we are in a position to lose few points and still get 4th, its all good.

We should win both Chelsea and Manchester City if we want the 3rd place ahead of Spurs. I think we can beat both in the Emirates.

Bad time to face them right now, City will try their hardest to stay in the race and if Chelsea is realistic, they know they have better chance of CL football next year via 4th spot.
