Tbh, I really don't care if they're the first London team to win it.

Their defensive performance deserved a final appearance. Great will till the 93rd whistle. Brilliant stuff.

Don't think they'll be able to beat Real in the final, maybe Bayern but it'll be much more difficult for them as they were able to adjust their tactics (or there lack of) based on which leg they were in whereas the finals are do or die.

You can never rule anything out. Chelsea got through Barcelona over two legs, so who's to say they won't beat Bayern or Madrid in a one-off game?

I really hope they don't win it, because not only does it effect us, it effects Newcastle, too, and I want them in the Champions League.

I don't want them to win either. On the other hand, it could mean all for nothing for Chelsea now that they have two options for CL next year. One bad result, they might just go all out for CL.

Obviously don't want them to win it, but don't care either.

They def. deserve a final appearance though.

I hope they keep him though Laughing no doubt, his Chelsea was better than AVB but long term, I don't see him as tactical sound coach who could deal with season long fixture and pressure.

from premier league official website
UEFA Champions League

The top four teams in the Barclays Premier League qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

English winners of the UEFA Champions League finishing outside the top four places (but who qualify for the UEFA Europa League through their domestic Barclays Premier League position) go forward as Winners to the group stage along with domestic champions, runners-up and third place.

No extra domestic place can be gained by winning the UEFA Champions League, therefore the team finishing fourth drops to the UEFA Europa League.
so in that case if they win CL and we finish 3rd we will be in Group stage,no need to play qualifier Round

We have to finish 3rd to make sure. That's the final say really.

As for Chelsea - against Real Madrid (hopefully) in the final and Mourinho, it will be tough, especially as Ramires, Miereles, Terry, Ivanovic would be out through suspension, whilst Cahill, Luiz are currently injured.

But nothing can ever be ruled out. Let's finish 3rd to make sure.

So two of these upcomming matches are must win and we can afford to draw one but a defeat would be disaster. I am worried now, hope chelsea doesnt win CL. The chances are very little but they have surprised everyone by surviving Barca.

I am just in total shock at this Chelsea team, yes we must win our games and cus anything could happen in the CL final. The chance of Chelsea beating bayern munich at home and powerful Madrid who score goals for fun and missing half of the team would need gods help for Chelsea to win.

Chelsea would be in the group stage if they won and qualified for EL?
Wiki told me they had to start from the first qualifying round, with no country protection ... if they finish sixth, then what?

already posted link in Lobby
now From Arsenal.com
Chelsea’s run to the Champions League final has the potential to complicate the qualification process for next season's competition.

Should Roberto Di Matteo's side win in Munich on May 19, the top three in the Premier League will go straight into the group stages, with Chelsea also claiming a place. The team that finishes in fourth in the Premier League would go into the Europa League.

Should Chelsea lose the final, the Premier League's top three would qualify for the group stages as normal, while the team finishing in fourth place would begin their European campaign in the Champions League play-off round.
finish 3rd and we are in GROUP STAGE.

If Chelsea finish fifth or lower, they still enter at the Group Stage as defending champions. Because no nation can have more than four teams in the competition, the team that finishes fourth in the Barclays Premier League will qualify for the UEFA Europa League, not the UEFA Champions League. The top three clubs will enter the UEFA Champions League at the Group Stage as normal.

Chelsea have started their transfer dealings early. They've signed Marko Marin for 8mil euros. Lukaku is apparently going to Werder Bremen on loan as part of the deal.
