Best written TV show?
This covers all genres such as comedy, drama, etc
But what do you reckon is the most well written TV show both on and off the air at the moment
In terms of dialogue and plot twists,
I'm going with Arrested Development
If you've seen the show you will know what I mean when I say its well written
Community and Dexter get an honorable mentions also

That's not fair because... because... it's pretty much history rewritten.RedOranje wrote:Band of Brothers

As for recent series, Game of Thrones has completely kicked my ass several times, so I'll give it a mention.

ENTOURAGE!!!!!!
Hey guys, Vince isn't getting the movie, LOL.
On a serious note, I would really like to back and watch some shows before answering this. I'm glad Community got some love, I really love that show.
I'd like to say How I Met Your Mother, been watching since the first season and I don't think any episode has left me disappointed.
This show only had one season but I found it to be quite brilliant. Rubicon was the name and I'm pretty upset it wasn't given another season.
@Arq - I have still yet to watch Mad Men, but I will try to find the time to start watching. See what all the hype is about.
I really enjoy Fringe, but I'm not sure if that show is all about the writing.
(A must watch if you have never witnessed its greatness.)
The Mentalist would also get an honorable mention.

Re: Best written TV show?
Character interactions, development, and dialogue aren't part of writing for a plot now?Sushi Master wrote:That's not fair because... because... it's pretty much history rewritten.RedOranje wrote:Band of Brothers

Re: Best written TV show?
My brother won't stop trying to get me to watch "Always Sunny in Philadelphia" and I don't know why I haven't given in yet.
I also need to begin watching Curb from the start, I watched a bit as a child (But it's not the same), same deal goes for Seinfeld. I watched almost all the episodes as a child, but now that I'm "grown", I think I would get more out of the show.
+1 for Suits getting mentioned.

Re: Best written TV show?
It's like Band of Brothers' younger sibling, honestly. It lives in the shadow of BoB while trying to forge it's own path awkwardly and just doesn't quite have the originality to it.Sushi Master wrote:It was in jest. IMO Always Sunny is the best show on TV, at least the best comedy. You really should check it out. The first season is great too, but when Danny Devito joins the cast in season 2, the show really picks up from there.
Curb is great too, the season that just ended a couple weeks ago was hilarious.
