Is Messi the King of El Classico?
Is there any player in the history of the madrid-barca rivalry who have done the same damage as messi
have done to madrid?
13 goals in 15 games (I´m not 100% sure but think I read it somewhere)
Shitloads of assists and been on the winning side/delivering MoTM performances mostly aswell.

So Messi is the best when he plays Real Madrid but not Man Utd. LOL
If anything he plays better against the Mancs xD

Re: Is Messi the King of El Classico?
Like Adit said, Messi is the best player almost everytime he plays against any opposition. He has played against Madrid many times, and I've no doubts in my mind that if the games where against other top european teams it would be the same.

Wow, there is some serious butt hurt in this thread. I know there are on purpose flame threads all the time on here but I don't think that's what he's doing.
It's simply an EPL fan asking if out of all the great incredible players that have come through Madrid and Barcelona if any of them have performed as well as Messi in the Classico?
Why you bring up Man United is beyond me, it has nothing to do with the thread.
And the answer is yes, Messi is king of the Classico's.

Not yet there have been better performers.
Likes of Raul,Di Stefano,Xavi etc.
I think Di Stefano is the all time leading Clasico scorer with 17 goals or something.
But he is moving up the list.

Its 2 goals in 4 games in the UCL.
If you had watched football before the 2010 season you would know that messi had ONE good game against united wich was the 2011 final. Everyone with just one bit of footballing knowledge would know that iniesta destroyed united in 09.
Back on topic, I was refering the the clasico´s and as far as I know united does not feature in that, so:
Have there been anyone more influential than messi in the madrid-barca showdowns?

In an All time list Messi isn't number 1 ATM. But he is up there.

Re: Is Messi the King of El Classico?
I don't care for your patronizing tone.
As for the list Don Alfredo is the undisputed king right now as far as goals and performances go.
Puskas, César, Gento and Raul follow after that.
Messi straight after and catching up fast.
Hugo Sanchez, Xavi, Puyol, Luis Suarez, Kubala, Juanito, Santillanna, Rivaldo and Mr. 5-0 5-0 Laudrup.
Zamarano, Smatier, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos and Eto'o.
Something like that.
