Suarez was brought in to play with Torres.
Torres pms'd and left.
We tried to bring in Gomez and Llorente. Both were rejected. Settled with Carroll. And if I'm totally honest, I couldn't care less. There's no denying he's a great player, and once he gets used to system he'll start banging them in. You gotta remember, Drogba only scored like 10 goals in his PL debut season.
The system isnt the issue imo, Carroll would be great in the system the problem is all too often Liverpool try to adapt to Carroll instead of Carroll adapting to Liverpool.....
When i watch you play without Carroll, you play exactly how you should play when Carroll is in the team but for some reason when Carroll plays you play the long ball too often which isnt Carroll's game to bully defenders like it would be for Drogba for example......
Continue your current style and when you get it wide cross it in with quality and you will see a drastic improvement in Carroll's performances....
And yes Messiakanino iam forever grateful

Thing is, when we do put crosses in the box, he's never in there.
And if you watch the game against Wolves or Man City, you can see that Andy can actually play the Liverpool way.
Stevie's back too now, so Andy will finally have quality support. And once Carragher is dropped you won't see as many hoofs. But to be honest, the hoofing has lowered this season which is a good thing.
It's bullshit how everyone, the media, other fans, some of our own fans are using Andy as a scapegoat when he hasn't even done that bad. Especially how the likes of Downing and Kuyt go unpunished every single game.

Thats the point iam making and too often imo Liverpool go away from thier own style of play to fit in Carroll, atleast thats what i see anway......
I probably agree with you, he hasnt been bad it probably had something to do with the expectation levels are higher for Carroll than those players you mentioned......
Also the money has alot to do with it say if Carroll cost 18 million and Suarez cost 35 i dont think people would be screaming " Carroll's a flop nowhere near as much"
Again he hasnt been bad tbh, just not anywhere as good as he was for Newcastle before he was sold.....

Re: Andy Carroll
That was to come though, no?
It's not as if he was going to become a world beater as soon as he got here. It takes time, especially when you're 22 and you just came to a new club for 35m and the media is repeatedly on your back.
He came with an injury, and showed good signs when he played. He hit the post like 2 times and another saved off the line in his first 6 months and scored a brace against Man City and then reinjured himself. Keep in mind the Man City game was the only game we didn't hoof it.
Came back at the start of the season. Had a goal disallowed against S'land. Stupid refereering as it should of stood. There was no freekick there.
He scored in the derby against Everton despite having a bad game and also hit the post against Wolves. If Suarez could finish he would of got quite a few of assists too.
He had a bad game against Spurs, but so did the rest of the team.
And then having to play another 2 or 3 months without the best player and captain at your club out injured and your vice captain hoofing the ball to as if he's trying to save his life.
Just lucky Kenny is a good people person and talks with Andy quite a bit. Never says anything negative about him and keeps him composed. He tries to get the media out of Andy's head about him being an alcoholic and some other bullshit rumour that he went to prison or something something.
Anyway. If Andy scores 10-15 goals this year, I'll be happy. Players will then gel and he'll start terrorising defences again.

Re: Andy Carroll
I'm fine with Andy's personal abilities, but as I wrote in the LFC section (and as mentioned here by Mole and Liverpooi, too), at the moment we are playing better as a team when our more versatile forwards Kuyt, Suarez and Bellamy are on the field.
Carroll himself has to get sharper on the pitch, too, but his below-par form isn't totally his fault.

Carroll is worth 'f*** all
Derek Llambias, the man who brokered the deal that made Andy Carroll the most expensive Englishman in football history, has sensationally claimed: “He’s worth f*** all!”
The Toon MD’s disparaging verdict on England striker Carroll (below) came when he was giving a group of Newcastle fans an insight into the £35million deal that took the England striker to Liverpool in January.
Llambias insists that Newcastle got the better of the deal.
The Anfield club’s first bid was £30m and Llambias told the fans: “I have to admit that £30m for Andy Carroll is a lot of money.”
When one supporter asked him “Is he worth £30m?” Llambias responded: “No — he’s worth f*** all.” He then explains that after rejecting the £30m offer, Newcastle refused to sell even for £35m unless Liverpool paid the entire fee up front.
A move that forced Liverpool to ask Chelsea to increase their first instalment of the £50m they had already agreed to pay for Fernando Torres!
Llambias explained: “It is about control.
“We had the control. We knew the Torres deal was there.
“We drew that f****** deal, perhaps the ultimate.
“So £30m? F*** off! Don’t waste my time and I slammed the phone down.
“£35m? Everybody including Pardew [manager Alan Pardew] all agreed.
“But the £35m they wanted to pay over four years. It was rubbish. Mike (Ashley) said — and he is a brave boy Mike I promise you — get all the £35m up front.
“We got it all up front and then they never paid us on time and we charged them 12 grand f****** interest.”

Hardly Carrol couldn't even score against a demoralised team of 10 men
in a game where ameobi even got on the score sheet
twice

It worked did'nt it , i have said countless times i did it for a joke.
He's obviously a good player and a beast in some aspects but i dont believe Liverpool play in a way that suits him and thus i believe he will struggle goals wise.
