Is this a penalty and/ or red card (second yellow)?
Is this a penalty and/ or red card?
Mind you Rami is already on yellow.

EDIT:
Here are both situations:
Foul by Rami, should be penalty and second yellow:
Foul by Mique, should be penalty:

Messi shouldn't have been in the area when he was tripped. His own fault, to be perfectly honest

Re: Is this a penalty and/ or red card?
penalty + yellow and seeing as he was already on a yellow, he should have been off.
But leave it, crying over it will not change anything. We should ask why guardiola played 3-4-3 against *bleep* valencia with 2 of those defender being over 30 and one of them just coming out of injury and the 3rd defendfer is a DM..

Penalty? Yes. Yellow card? i dont know. But hey why is no one talking about Puyol pushing Soldado outside penalty box? so to me its fair.

Re: Is this a penalty and/ or red card?
Technically it could be given as it was maybe a foul and in the area. However, I think the ref did the right thing... let the game run, it wasn't that bad. Had it been bang in front and stopping a scoring opportunity he'd probably give it though.

The ref was fine in this game... the bad calls evened out... no excuses for either team. Both had their fair chances to win it.

What's the Arsenal way? Look i'm not a hater, I like Messi, he's the best player in planet but he is diving way too much recently. And that was a dive in my opinion. You don't have to bring Arsenal in a non-related thread.

Pep should've spent more money buying better refs, this one turned rogue

sry we are not arsenal who pays the referee to disallowed a perfectly legal goal and then to not give 2 penalties

Lol can't talk about Farcelona without their fans mentioning the other person's team
If it's not Madrid, it's Arsenal. If It's not Arsenal, it's Inter. If it's not Inter, it's Chelsea
Pathetic

Re: Is this a penalty and/ or red card?
I'll admit Messi takes a tumble in both but theirs enough contact for a penalty to be called in both as well.

Re: Is this a penalty and/ or red card?
First is a dive... allow me to explain.
Messi was chopped at in the box, and dodged it like the beast he is, but then he took a tumble out of the box when he realized he wouldn't be able to do anything with the ball. So had the ref called it, it would've been a free kick out of the box even though the contact was made in the box because messi actually made his dive outside.
Second one, #23 or whatever number I saw, committed a clear straight red foul, and the other guy I think it was #4 did defended very well and didn't need that other guy to commit the foul lol.
So yeah second one clear penalty, first not so much.

Re: Is this a penalty and/ or red card?
The first one is a dive and a half...Messi avoids the tackle easily but falls down anyway looking for the penalty
The second one is a tough call - the GIF is crappy quality for me...From what I see, If the ball was more clearly under the control of Messi I would stay stonewall penalty, but it seems to be getting away from him and more of a 50/50 ball than anything...you aren't going to get a penalty on a 50/50 ball in the box in the 94th minute..

I quite agree, plus from what I saw from the second ball. #4 touched the ball before #23 did the foul, so that is not a penalty.
The first one was judged to be minimal contact and no foul was given. If video technology was being used, Messi would be probably booked for a dive. Nothing to complain about here really, the bad call evened out in the end.

Re: Is this a penalty and/ or red card?
50/50 call IMO. and Lord knows that Barcelona have had 50/50 calls go their way before.
It's only natural that some don't go your way.
