I usually just have my music on but I like the new commentary.

Doesn't feel right to me without Andy Gray

Skill ratings just piss me off. There isn't a player playing professionally that can't do every single skill in the game yet half of them can't even do a roulette

IMO they should have a "skill comfort" etc which sets how comfortable/the ease in which a player will pull off skill moves rather than limiting them from doing the trick in the first place.

I'm trying to get on the Ultimate Team Web App now, but the traffic is crashing the site. I can't even log in right now.

EA is such a fail they tell us at 5pm (yesterday) and it is still not working. .

Yep, I'm glad they tested it all before the release

Here are my thoughts on the game:

1. The new defending system: I think they were right to change it, because before it was far to easy. You could just hold 2 buttons and have your players swarm in on the ball like bees. Worked really well with Barca, because that is basically what they do, but it didn't really take skill. The new system does take skill, and I find it really hard to get the hang of, it will be a good challenge. However, I worry that there isn't really a way of pressing. My hopes are banking on there being an effective tactics toggle where players intelligently press up the field, because I struggle to win the ball back. The game is made for sitting back and jockying and waiting for your opponent to make a mistake so you can jump in and tackle. Its very hard to dominate possession if you can't defend aggressively.

2. The other game controls are very good. Passing seems a lot more manual and challenging. The ball physics are changed. Dribbling and ball control is also more realistic and it isn't just about giving it to a player who's big and fast anymore. This is probably the best improvement.

3. The collision system is kind of cool, but they've gone too far with it and its pretty raw... Hopefully, they fix this for the real game because I've had some extremely bizarre colllisions... eg. player gets tapped... they do three backflips falling to the ground.

4. Alan Smith > Andy Gray.

5. New graphics are pretty nice. A lot of players look excelllent, but I don't understand why, for the top teams, they don't put effort in for a few select players. I'll use Barca again as the example. All the players look really good except for Busquets, Pedro, Sanchez, Adriano, Maxwell, Afellay... Particularly for Busquets and Pedro who are on the starting XI they should make them look as realistic as the others. Seems half-arsed if you ask me. For all the most popular teams they should have their faces manually done and their names recorded for commentary. This would go down well with all the fans.

My conclusion on how to defend in fifa 12. Press, press, press. You have to press but very intelligently with two players and the AI will either make a more risky pass, kick it out of play or lose the ball.

You press with a team mate and you control another player and you block off passing lanes and try to intercept, tackle or make them lose the ball by an unforced error.

It pisses me off when they can't get through your defense they just pass back and forth.

It seem no one is choosing to learn how to utilize the B button with turbo. I'll admit more times than not I do find myself using RB as close down the passing lanes, but at some point you need to learn to defend 1v1.

It's all about timing and angles IMO. If a players is running away from you, B can be using to stick an arm out and interrupt that players run. I much prefer having a say for when my players makes a standing tackle (In Fifa 11 x could be used as a standing tackle depending on position), this year we have a ground tackle and standing tackle.

I'm really quite shocked at how many people have let these changes overwhelm them.

P.S. This is still just a demo, so to the people who are already making a decision on the game, I suggest you wait to judge until you play the full game. Not saying you have to buy it, just head overs to a friend's house and test it out.
