Well not really. Everybody are always talking season as a whole continuity. Transfermarkt, wiki, practically everybody are saying Messi scored 47 goals in 09-10 and 53 in 10-11, not 50 and 50. It's rather logical.

See, therein lies my problem with that structure. The Supercopa, for me, is the official ending, climax, if you will, of a league season, not the commencement. To me, the opening is something where every team can participate in, while the ending is only something that very few entities can partake in.

By including the stats from the Community Shield, Supercopa etc in the next league season, it gives an inherent disadvantage towards players in other teams that haven't participated in those games, especially for newcomers to a team that wasn't in the previous season's supercopa/ Community Shield etc.

Just my views.

I'm not going argue with you here, I usually myself check the stats that transfermarkt recommend. And I'm not going to mix up sources because they have different views on player subtitution minutes, overtime minutes and assists. I can check the Higuain situation, now that it has been broguth up, but will continue to use transfermartk.de.

Here is Higuiain's La Liga minutes breakdown from transfermarkt.de. Few rules they have:

- Overtime minutes will not count
- When player is subtituted on, 1 minute is added to the time 90 - subtime + 1
- When player is subtituted off, 1 minute is removed from the time, subtime - 1
- The rules are same for everyone

Zaragoza 75min in +16min
Getafe 87min in +4min
Levante 59min in +32min
Santander 68min in +23min
Rayo 59min off +58min (-1)
Espanyol 90min

= 223min, so the stats check out according their rules.
