'Another curiosity' isn't wrong actually. He's trying to personify curiosity. It's make some sense like that.

Re: 'The Messiah' - Lionel Messi
"Cristiano has been making history for many years now, but Messi is the best in the world, and one day Neymar will be the best," Ronaldinho told ESPN.
"For me Messi is the best in the world. For the last few years he has played at a level of football we have never seen before.
"I'm very proud to speak of him, because I was there when he started off and now he is the best in the world, it makes me so happy.
"The game I remember the most is when he scored his first goal, because it came from my pass and I remember this game most vividly because he was just getting started.
"I had the chance to be there and live that moment. I'm very happy that his first professional goal came from a pass from me.
"Messi knows that there will always be a place in my heart for him," he concluded

Of course goal.com twist this into "Ronaldinho says Neymar will surpass Messi"

Nothing, just what's behind the "cool" pictures. That Maradona picture is usually, falsely, used to show how he was guarded all the time...7amood11 wrote:What's that supposed to prove?

Nah, Maradona was marked and crowded like Messi currently is, but that situation just isn't one of them.

In fairness if you watched that game Belgium were being thugs to Maradona the entire time, just because that moment wasn't one of it doesn't take that away.

Re: 'The Messiah' - Lionel Messi
Willem van Hanegem (teammate Cruyff WC74) "Messi is in his eyes the greatest of all-time."
He used to say that Maradona is the greatest and best ever (for example in his biography) but yesterday he said it is Messi. He was asked for his top five:
1. Messi
2. Maradona
3. Cruijff
4. Pelé
5. Iniesta

Re: 'The Messiah' - Lionel Messi
Maybe its just me but he seems to be dropping deeper a little lesser this season compared to last season.
A quick check on Whoscored to confirm it shows that he averaged 63.8 passes last season in the league. This season he averages 57.6.
Gap not as big as I expected but still lends credence to my view that he is indeed dropping deep lesser compared to last season.
Last season he was almost playing like a 10.This season I think the balance is better.Could also explain why he is making less key passes(as compared to last season) and the midfielders more(as compared to last season).

Re: 'The Messiah' - Lionel Messi
In the 15 league games we have already played, Messi has scored two goals in 11 of those games (and 1 hat trick).
The only games he failed to scored a goal was Sevilla + Granada + Celta de Vigo + Valencia
He is currently well on his way of equaling Ronaldo's scoring 1 goal against each La Liga team should he score against these teams on the return match, if anything Messi has the chance to achieve scoring two goals against each team.

Guinness & FIFA recognises Messi's single-year goal record
http://www.dnaindia.com/sport/report_guinness-recognises-messi-s-single-year-goal-record_1777465
Guinness World Records has recognised FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi for setting a new mark for most goals in a calendar year - 88 and counting.
The 25-year-old Argentine has notched that total with two Spanish league matches left in 2012, surpassing the previous record that Germany's Gerd Muller had held for 40 years.
Guinness and FIFA issued a statement Thursday saying that Messi's goals this year and those of Muller in 1972 are part of the official record and there should be no controversy surrounding the Argentine's feat.
So that's that really.
