This is why Criscito should have never left.

I think saying that De Ceglie never had any potential is very harsh but he is the most one footed player I've seen and he is made of glass. I don't know if he will be anything better than a solid left back, he won't be world class in my opinion but he can be a good player.

Ziegler is a much, much better option than Grosso can ever be...
Hopefully Esti is the real deal as a LB, God knows he'll be needed.

If not for the freak injury he suffered last season,he would have drawn as much as hype and attention as Abate drew last season...

Not only Estigarrbia ,we also have Vidal if i remember correctly played as a LB for Chile in the world cup so perhaps Conte might have assessed all the available options and then maybe decided to let go of Ziegler Although the move doesnt make much sense...

Niether Esti or Vidal will be used in those positions if not an emergency descion. Esti is an LW, subsitute for Elia, not for PDC. Grosso will get the nod ahead of both Vidal and Esti. In fact, for now... Vidal will be more of an option for CB rather than LB. He's done it twice vs France and Spain and has done a good job at it.

Vidal at leftback might well be an emergency option but i see him having more of a role at CM since in my opinion,he's the ideal partner to Pirlo..

Would be interesting to see what Conte has in mind anyways..

I mean't to say LB, so my mistake, Not LW for Vidal. Of course he will play more as a CM, but he may very well end up in the CB position as well. According to reports and what he has done on the internaitonal level.

Well said. I agree.

The one thing that could make this understandable (notice that I did not say wise/smart/thought-through) is if PDC has seriously impressed during training and preseason. I can't say that I have personally seen this development (this is potentially because I haven't been able to see most of the preseason matches ). In any case, relying on Grosso will at best leave the left side of our defense inconsistent from game to game. I don't care whose decision this was; it still seems like a poor managerial move. Only time will tell if Juve's left side will be as weak as we all seem to think it will be.

He will have a great season 100% sure of it!!!

You can't be 100% sure of it though, so there is no reason to take your word for it.
That goes double for PDC>Ziegler, although I agree it is not because you used the magic ">" sign....
