Regarding Top Transfers Of This Summer
Here is Goal.com's top twenty transfers of the summer. I had complained for a long time that this transfer window has been dull but it really picked up in the last few weeks.
http://www.goal.com/en/news/1717/editorial/2011/08/29/2596009/goalcoms-top-20-transfers-of-summer-2011
I find this list quite acceptable and can hardly think of changes I would like to make.
Would you like to make your list or suggest modifications to this list?

Re: Regarding Top Transfers Of This Summer
The list is good and well thought. I wouldn't put Falcao ahead of stekelnburg though. I think Roma have got themselves a very good GK on the cheap. Falcao is a good finisher but i don't consider getting him for 40mil a "bargain". These are all mere speculations anyway. We'll know the best transfers by the end of the season

Re: Regarding Top Transfers Of This Summer
Yes mole that could really be something.
BTW in spite of having sold so many players, how have your team Newcastle started the season so well? Anyway I am pleased for you.
Coming back to the transfer list I remembered one big miss - Samuel Eto'o to Anzhi. He could take that club to UCL by the end of the Russian league if not actually win the league. We know how good he is and he can hardly stay on the pitch without giving his all. It's sad that we will not see him in top level football any more. I am still not very clear about why he chose to move there. If I were to guess something it's that he didn't see a chance to go to any really top level team. Inter needed money and wanted to sell him. He probably didn't feel like he had anything more to achieve with Inter. So he saw this as an opportunity to earn big money. Ideally he should have done something like this at least a couple of years later. Any other answers you all can think of?
On a completely unrelated note I am not sure how many of you have noticed that right since the day Russia failed to qualify for WC 2010 Andre Arshavin has been playing football as if he is only there to earn pension money. I think that WC 2010 qualification failure hurt him a bit too deeply. Maybe there is something more to it that we don't know. On one side one feels bad to see a player with so much talent waste it in this manner. On the other hand he really doesn't deserve to be playing in top level competition any more. He should have been the one moving to Anzhi - not Eto'o.

Re: Regarding Top Transfers Of This Summer
They have finally added Eto'o to the list which I think makes the list even better than before. Here is their final list.

Not a bad list, Pastore needs to be higher though

His price goes against him. He is also a little unproven at the highest level. Anything less than a Ligue 1 title I guess would be considered a failure.
Re: Regarding Top Transfers Of This Summer
Top transfer of last summer is Sergio Agüero by far. Worth every penny, shame that we went for Sanchez instead of him, I'll regret it and keep posting about that till we buy Neymar or other young superstar forward.

Re: Regarding Top Transfers Of This Summer
Goal.com's predictions and my 2 cents
Cesc FABREGAS - 6/10 - Good start of the season, faded as the season wore off
Sergio AGUERO - 9/10 - Top, top goalscorer. You couldn't go wrong with Kun.
Samir NASRI - 4/10 - Arsenal star had a bad season with City compared to his standards and was benched quite a few times as well. Improved late on.
Alexis SANCHEZ - 4/10 - Great player he may be but he never clicked with his Barça team mates.
Arturo VIDAL - 8/10 - Had a fantastic season with Juventus. Bianconeri's second top player after Pirlo.
Radamel FALCAO - 8/10 - Scored plenty for Colchoneros and helped them win Europa League. Top striker.
Maarten STEKELENBURG - 6/10 - Average season with Roma.
Ashley YOUNG - 7/10 - Performed great partnership with Rooney and co.
Juan MATA - 7/10 - Just like the rest of Chelsea, had a poor start but improved late on.
Manuel NEUER - 9/10 - Expensive (€22 million) but worth every cent. World class goalkeeper.
Nuri SAHIN - 2/10 - Injured and benched, Mourinho never trusted the Bundesliga player of the year.
GERVINHO - 4/10 - Great speed and technique but his finishing and final balls were piss poor.
Santi CAZORLA - 7/10 - Had a great season with Málaga. Yellow submarine sure did miss him.
Samuel ETO'O - ?/10 - No idea, don't watch Russian league
Andre SCHURRLE - 5/10 - Very inconsistent and was played out of his comfortable position.
Phil JONES 5/10 - Was used in a variety of positions and never really convinced in any of them.
Theo JANSSEN - ?/10 - No idea, don't watch Eredivisie.
Diego FORLAN - 2/10 - Awful season after great Copa América with Uruguay. Replaced by Milito as the season went on.
Javier PASTORE - 7/10 - He is an idiot for going to Ligue 1 (so is Lavezzi). However, he played well in his first season and was involved in attack constantly. Lost his place in the national team.
Gokhan INLER - 7-10 - Had great performances despite his team's failure in Serie A. Won Coppa Italia with a classy performance in the final.

This is all good ratings though I feel Sanchez improved and his work rate was terrific. 6/10 if Fabregas is 6

Cesc was not a 6 to Alexis 4, not to me.
And Young was never a 7, he did alright, but he simply isnt that good.

I'd say Falcao was the best signing of the season.

Gervinho also was not 4. imo, had a better season than Fabregas. His finishing may be poor but hey, Fabregas's second half was poor as well.

This.
And Pastore a 7? I can't comment on that too much since I don't watch Ligue 1, but going by what I hear, that's not the impression I got. But I didn't see him enough to judge anyway.
I'd give Juan Mata an 8 or 9. He was pretty class for Chelsea and made them way better than they were. I doubt they would have near the amount of unlikely success they got last season if it weren't for him.

I agree dani. Mata and Young being rated equally doesn't make much sense to me.

I don't know if I am missing something here but there is only one man who can be called the top transfer of last summer.

Re: Regarding Top Transfers Of This Summer
Mata did not start poorly.
Mata started fantasticly. Just like the rest of Chelsea but dropped off around November. He then picked up again late on and won player of the year. Deserves more than 7/10. More like 8.5/10.
