Juve want Alex, but only on loan

Juventus have been linked with a £7.5m bid for Chelsea defender Alex, but Italian sources say they only want him on loan.
This week the British media suggested Juve director general Beppe Marotta was flying out to London for advanced negotiations over the 29-year-old.

However, the Gazzetta dello Sport insists there is no truth to the reports that the Bianconeri are prepared to offer £7.5m.

Instead, Juve hope to take the Brazilian on loan from Stamford Bridge with an option to buy at the end of the season.

If they are to splash the cash for a reinforcement in defence, Juventus would rather spend the money on 20-year-old Uruguayan defender Sebastian Coates from Nacional.

Think it's a good buy for them, maybe throw a P/E and actually buy him.

It is a temporary fix, but Juventus have to build for the future so I say no to Alex.

Well he is a better option over Lugano if you ask me.

Agreed. If he comes on loan, I have no problem. He can cement the defence for this season until Juventus ideally has a CL spot to tempt bigger players, and has an injection of money of some sort in order to secure better and younger talent.

So after seeing him put in a monster performance for Chelsea today i'd say it's safe to assume he won't be joining us anytime soon

He started for Chelsea today, so it doesn't really make sense for him to move now, he played very well.

Lugano is the better and cheaper option.

Chiellini/Bonucci/Lugano/Barzagli is a beastly rotation

Lugano = Alex ...

they are both first 11 starting material for any club ....

Alex is quality but he started for Chelsea because Luiz is injured.If Luiz becomes fit Alex will be benched again.So its not impossible Alex may try to move on to secure 1st team football if he is benched again.

The only way Alex will leave is if Rajkovic gets a work permit and Bosingwa learns to defend.

I really don't see where these Alex-to-Juventus rumours have originated from...

Why would
a) Chelsea want to sell him only for £7.5m? He is their 3rd choice CB, very reliable, started their first game. They'd probably need to buy a replacement if they sold him. No way they will loan him out, that would make even less sense, weaken your squad by loaning your 3rd choice CB.

b) Alex want to join Juventus? He's got CL football and challenging for league title.
