Juventus want to set up a loan deal for Chelsea defender Alex.

Corriere dello Sport says Juve officials are in London today for talks with Chelsea over Alex's transfer. Juve have made their move after learning of rival interest from Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.


Juve GM Beppe Marotta wants to set up an initial season-long loan with the option to sign Alex permanently next summer.


Alex's departure would free up a foreigner's spot to boost Chelsea's pursuit for Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric.
Juventus have their sights on Alex after failing to lure Uruguayan centre half Diego Lugano away from Fenerbahce.

Lugano looks set to sign a new contract to keep him in Istanbul
