Re: Rival thread
Newcastle away two points dropped, playing 60 minutes against 10 men and still draw
Everton away two points dropped, Joe Allen misses the easiest sitter in history of man kind to take it to 1-3. Also Mirallas should have been red carded for that challenge on Suarez in the first half.
City at the Eithad with the referring shambles. Mignolet mistake, Sterlng sitter miss
Too many points dropped where we seriously should've and could've done more. I hate looking back at those stupid mistakes being the cause of us possibly missing out on something good.

Just shows, were not 'miles' away from challenging for the tittle, and what a good job rodgers is doing right now.

Re: Rival thread
We're not "miles" away, I still believe we only need 1 marquee to title challenge. But we're still far behind and are going to need that luck. The teams around us are just going to get better and better as they continue to adapt to their manager, and for Spurs case, their players adapt to the league. I highly doubt Pellegrini and Mourinho are going to randomly experiment on every away game next season in their second season and let their competitors back into it either... they also have a lot more depth than we do and have no real problems with injuries.
They'll be out of sight in the summer if we don't make CL and they continue to spend whatever they do every summer. Let's not forget, Chelsea are pretty much playing with a "mid table" striker, and City will also invest in their defence, and perhaps cover for Toure / Fernandinho. They're both going to improve further in the summer.

Re: Rival thread
The top-three things that will haunt us the most if we don't make top-4 are:
1. Toure's pass.
2. Allen's missed sitter.
3. Not bringing in anyone in January.

Also our next 4 fixtures:

You shouldn't be concerned with Spurs, they won't catch you. You should be concerned with Arsenal, who I think you can overtake considering how brutal their fixtures are this month and the next, in comparison to yours.
As for us, 4th place is nothing but a pipe dream. I'm just hoping we avoid the Europa League like a plague so we can concentrate fully on the league next season.

Re: Rival thread
I'm definitely going to be rooting for you to take points off Arsenal midweek and also hopefully you get EL so you play on Thursdays
Also just so you know next seasons EL winners get CL as well so that's another route teams can take now. And the new rule is that England/Germany/Spain will be allowed 5 teams in CL if say the winner of EL doesn't make top 4 in the league or the winner of CL doesn't make top 4. So no more shenanigans like Spurs had two years ago. This season is the last season that 4th place isn't guaranteed.

Re: Rival thread
F*cking spuds and their 1-0 wins!
Still think Everton's the biggest threat to us for a top 4 spot even if Spurs are the closest behind us, but it's ours to lose imo. We should be chasing Arsenal's top 3 finish.
@RED: Kudos for speaking at a respectable manner. It's easy to get carried away when talking about rivals.
I do think you should go for atleast an Europa spot. As much as I hate them, and want to see them fall, Manchester United deserve playing European football. Maybe not at the elite level , but they still do none the less. Keep in mind, you're going to struggle to keep onto players/acquire players if you don't have Europe.

We need to get ourselves in a great position before we vs united. That's 4 teams who will 'NEED' to beat us come that time of the season.

Re: Rival thread
so that will be 6 matches before we face the scums, if we are in a position where a draw against Utd wont hurt our top 4 ambition at all, that will be the best we could achieve in those 6 fixtures. But I think we should always aim a little higher like 2nd or 3rd, if we are in a position to do that.

There's no way I would want anything less than a win at Old Trafford. They are giving away 3 points over there this season like it's candy on Halloween. I'm sure Rodgers would feel the same way.

I have reduced my expectations for away form in this season, I have no confidence at all whether it is Fulham or Manutd...But one thing I am sure is ManUtd game will be where our intensity will be high as always

Re: Rival thread
I'm confident about Spurs because they have yet to come to Anfield.
My sights are set on the 3 above us, but that's only until we get beaten by Fulham and all of optimist is thrown out the window.
