Re: Rival thread
no i still think we should have won but may be one man being down worked in their favour and the defended more so was difficult to break them down...
But now i would like to forget about hull win and all the draws.
We have some big matches coming on so lets get something from them

Is that what I said? No.mr-r34 wrote:10 man Newcastle still considered a good result?
But drawing away to a club who have managed to beat Tottenham (A), Chelsea (H), and Manchester United (A) is not a shocking result, red card or not.

Manchester v Newcastle wasn't great football, but it was still great to watch. The Mancs going two full games at home without scoring

What a week for us.
Lets hope we beat spurs and city beat or draw against arsenal next week.

Re: Rival thread
brilliant weak
Spurs have had a good weak with two wins and will be high on confidence. But I think we should play for win against them and if we cant, get at least a draw

Hull remain the only Premier League visitors to the Etihad Stadium this season to have conceded fewer than three goals.

Re: Rival thread
It will be quite a big achievement if we lose like 2-1 or may be 3-2 at Etihad, but I think unlike other teams like Arsenal we wont play such an open game, so we have better chances(like 5%) to get something from there

Re: Rival thread
Yeah, getting anything from the blue side of Manchester would be awesome. It wouldn't surprise me anymore if they won every home game of the season, it's only us and Chelsea left out of the big clubs.
Anyway, things looked nice when Fulham equalised, but then they went on to lose 4 - 1 to Everton... At least Newcastle and Soton drew.

If the game gets stretched like today, we are frracked...I think BR will never such tactics against such teams in form, I still believe we will be the first one to knock on the door screwing their home record, but finally they might edge us.

We have dominated City in the past few years. Yes, they're under new management now and freely scoring but I think we can snatch a point there. Obviously not counting on it though.

Re: Rival thread
I say kill ourselves against Spurs and Chelsea to go out and do our best to get 6 points there, and play a "weaker" side against Cardiff to try and get a positive result. (It's at home, so we only really need Suarez against them anyways.) We have no chance of 3 points at the Etihad. Not without Sturridge and Gerrard anyway.

That's because of Mancini being their manager to be fair.

Re: Rival thread
^ Gets better for us I guess. Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines after being carried off on a stretcher with a deep cut to the knee during the Premier League clash at Manchester City.
They're still doing scans, but I saw it live, he couldn't move his knee. Think he'll be out for months, I hope for his sake it's not his ACL.
That means Vermaelen is in, and he's been average defensively for couple of seasons now.

Re: Rival thread
I hate to be happy for people's misfortunes especially with injuries but f*cking hell I think we've been one of the most unluckiest teams in the league regarding injuries ourselves, so some injuries to our rivals isn't unwelcomed here
Just off the top of my head we've had injuries to
Agger (out twice)
Enrique
Coutinho
Johnson
Gerrard
Sturridge (niggled almost all the games he played and now out for a good couple of months)
Aspas
Coates
Jones
Kelly (Still recovering from old injury)
Pretty sure there was a couple of more that I'm forgetting

Chelsea look like they have a hard run, just like we do. Let's hope they can drop as much points as possible.
City will breeze through I think.
United will start to catch up with some easy games. I think they get Carrick back which puts Rooney back forward.
Everton will make themselves look good over the next month, although have limited depth. Not too sure how they'll go with playing 5 games in 2 weeks but can't see them losing too many points.
Spurs, well they're on the downhill IF they sack AVB. No chance of them making the top 4 if AVB is sacked. I think a "poor" result against Soton will get him the sack. Levy looked clueless after defeat, and there's a lot of rumours going around that he was going to get sacked today.
Arsenal will have "mixed" thoughts I think. Some easy games, but Chelsea and Newcastle could hurt them. Their best defender in Koscielny is out injured. Wilshere will definitely miss the game against Chelsea. Oh, if Chelsea beat them, they go first. Which is surprising as Chelsea has been dead average this season. I really hate the Mourinho affect.

Re: Rival thread
They could potentially get 15 points from their next 5 games without a manager.
Rooney is back from suspension. He'll carry them. Moyes is crap, but United is still a threat.
___
Anyway, Zabaleta has done his hamstring. He'll miss the Liverpool game too (Aguero's the other).
David Silva is 1 yellow card from suspension. Let's hope he picks up a card against Fulham.
Apparently Micah Richards is also out, so they have no right back to cover Zabaleta. I hope they stick with Pantil as well, he has butter fingers, can't hold onto the ball from a shot / cross. Only bad news for us is that Kompany is back and pretty much carry's City defence on his own and they're attack is still deadly.
With all that said, we always give City a game so it's looking positive.
Cardiff first, though.
