Sone Aluko has been given the chance to earn a dream move to Serie A giants Juventus that would earn Aberdeen £200,000 in compensation.
The Nigeria international winger left Pittodrie under freedom of contract in the summer after spending four years at the club. That means the Dons are entitled to a fee for developing the player as he is still under 23 years of age and that is payable wherever he ends up.
Aluko was linked with a move to Leicester City last month but that fell through and now his own father has taken over the task of finding the player a club.
Several Italian teams are interested in Aluko but new Juventus manager Antonio Conte was the first to arrange a trial period for the midfielder.
Brescia are also believed to be monitoring the situation but Aberdeen manager Craig Brown will make sure Aluko's former club get their cut of any deal. Brown said: "I believe that Sone changed agents during the summer and that his father is now looking after his interests. As far as I understand it there are several Italian clubs who are interested in him and that he has been offered trials over there. We have had no contact with any of them so far and that has to be done as we are due compensation."
Brown, meanwhile, is unsure what to expect from Hearts this afternoon following manager Paulo Sergio's appointment at Tynecastle.
The Portuguese has been in charge for ten days now and his Hearts players will have the added incentive of trying to impress to win a place in the team for next week's Europa League fixture with Tottenham.
Brown added: "It does make it a little more difficult, because we don't know his strategy the way we did with Jim (Jefferies] and Billy (Brown]. We knew how Hearts used to play and that helped us a little. We even knew the players they preferred. Now that Paulo Sergio's seen them in training he may make some changes."
The Dons have failed to score in three SPL matches this season, but Brown was adamant goals will come. He said: "We did some reasonably good things against Celtic, but we lost the match and we're not scoring goals. We're making chances and we know we've got proven goalscorers in the squad. The four strikers we have in the squad are all capable given chances - but we have to create as well."

Aberdeen's Aluko gets Juve trial
Juventus are on the verge of swooping for Aberdeen’s Nigerian international youngster Sone Aluko.
The 22-year-old is a free agent, but Aberdeen could be entitled to £200,000 in compensation for their part in developing the player, as he is still under 23.
The winger spent four years in Scotland and is reportedly joining Juventus for a trial period this month.
Aluko also played for Birmingham City and Blackpool. He was capped by England at youth level, but accepted an offer to play for Nigeria.
“I believe that Sone changed agents during the summer and that his father is now looking after his interests,” Aberdeen manager Craig Brown told The Scotsman.
“As far as I understand it there are several Italian clubs who are interested in him and that he has been offered trials over there.
“We have had no contact with any of them so far and that has to be done as we are due compensation.”
