Are Udinese really a THREAT??
Recently I read an article in goal.com that said Arsenal will lose to Udinese in the UCL play-offs
Are Arsenal really becoming that bad so much so that ppl are ready to say that they will lose to Udinese?Or is it the usual Goal.com nonsense? Why does Goal.com hate Arsenal with a vengeance?
Also,Can someone list out the players in Udinese who will be threat to Arsenal?(I don't watch Serie A)
With Zap and Sanchez sold, can Udinese be a threat to Arsenal as they have been touted to be?

Re: Are Udinese really a THREAT??
Di Natale and Mauricio Isla are probably the biggest threats left...

in short, no.
Goal.com hates Arsenal because we have a thriving fanbase and the more they make fun of us, the more hits they get.
Di Natale and Isla, but Asamoah the most, what a great player.
Even if they did have Zap & Sanchez, we would still be favorites to progress .

I don't think they are, but they could be if given space to counter attack. Sh!t.com wants you to read their articles and tell more people about it, like you're doing now.

They are in Serie A and still have talent. Not what they were last year on paper. However, Arsenal doesn't defend... so every team has a chance.

Di Natale should not be underrated, he may be below par at national level, but he's the brains behind Udinese, Sanchez or no Sanchez.
But yes, Arsenal should beat them... unless they self-destruct in their usual tragic, yet unbelievably epic manner.

They were 4th last year, they will be lucky to be in top 7 this year

Frankly ill be suprised if they finish top 10, i would'nt be suprised if they go down also.....
They only have Handanovic, Asamoah, Isla and Di Natale left i quite frankly cant see any other outcome but a comfortable Arsenal victory even though RVP is suspended and the possibility of key players leaving.

Re: Are Udinese really a THREAT??
they have di natale who is twice the top scorer in Italian league. they place counter attacking football and although they have lost some good players. any team with a decent striker and committed defenders is threat to arsenal who can also counter.

Re: Are Udinese really a THREAT??
With zapata gone ,their defence looks really fragile..Especially with slow domizzi around...he's going to have a tough time for sure..
But they posess decent fb's with great attacking prowess in armero and ofcourse isla who is now really, one of the manin players of udinese..
Not to forget a rising young cb in Mehdi Benatia..talented player and i'm sure he is gonna get transferred sooner rather than later..I believe he was linked to arsenal a few months ago and milan too..
All in all they lack the experience at this level and arsenal should win this comfortably IMO..Although beware of the unknown quantities udinese have just signed..

Re: Are Udinese really a THREAT??
Mole, you wouldn't be surprised if they go down?
Udinese co-own half of Italy, even if they have a poor start to the season they have many options to exercise in order to stay up. Even after selling Inler they were confident enough to move D'Agostino on, so Guidolin, who is a very capable coach, obviously has some degree of confidence in their acquisitions to this point.
Still, Udinese's greatest weapon is Arsenal themselves in this tie. Finish your chances and you're through. Udinese should never have moved Angella on though, he could have been a useful defender to have around for this tie; very little subtlety about him.

I am seeing alot of similarities between Sampdoria last year and would not be suprised if Udinese follow Sampdoria's footsteps and get relegated yes.
They probably have more winners like Di Natale than Sampdoria but none the less i would be worried for them.

Thats overexaggarating a tad bit..
If you remove cassano and pazzini from samp's squad, more like a below average spineless team to be honest..Plus they had two pretty horrible coaches who were absolutely clueless as to what they were doing..
On the other hand guidolin is pretty decent coach..
isla, armero, asamoah,di natale,abdi,benatia,handanovic,fabbrini,d-agostino..pretty decent group of players to be honest..More than sufficient for a mid-table finish but much depends on the circumstances as well..

Re: Are Udinese really a THREAT??
I still maintain that Sampdoria's relegation was predominantly the failure of the coach.
In other words, they'd still be in the mid-table if I were coaching them
I'd expect Udinese to start slowly, however if the President doesn't panic then Guidolin will steer them home.

Re: Are Udinese really a THREAT??
Of course Udinese are a threat.
Any team in the Champions League are a threat. Even if they've sold three of their best players, it's not like we're going into this tie at full strength either and we'll have to play well to get through.

Of course not, they'd be lucky to make it out without humiliation.

Re: Are Udinese really a THREAT??
I would not be complacent, at all. Even with Udinese dismantled, Arsenal of all teams should know not to underestimate anyone.
We certainly can't afford to put youth players or whatever experiments Wenger has been doing over the pre-season. We need to go out full force and put the game to rest in 1 leg.

Re: Are Udinese really a THREAT??
Long story short, no not all. They sold their defensive spine (Zapata), their midfield engine (Inler) and their wizard (Sanchez) and have not bought any worthy replacements. They will probably finish bottom half this season. Isla and Di Natale will give Arsenal problems but Arsenal will win, comfortably I may add.

May be only overrating them.. Articles in the media say that its all over for us..
And all fans are anxious about the squad which we will be able to field for the first leg...
