Cash or players for Cesc Fabregas?

I want Cesc to stay at least one more year since many players want to leave Arsenal this summer. If Cesc does leave what would be the best option the cash or get players in return? Few Barcelona players would not be a bad Idea. Bojan Krkic,Thiago Alcantara,Ibrahim Afellay,Víctor Solsona. If it was up to me I would take players over cash, as we all know the money will not go towards players. How much you think players above are worth?

Cash for me. I believe we already have the players to replace Cesc Fabregas and there are not any players Barcelona could offer us that play in a position that we could really do with strengthening (defence, defensive midfield).

Sure, Thiago Alcantara seems to be the next best thing coming out of Barcelona's academy but we don't really need him since we have Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey already here.

Bojan has just stagnated in his development and I believe we can get better strikers in.

Ibrahim Afellay is decent but I can't see him leaving Barcelona so soon after joining. On top of that, Arsenal already have a number of offensive targets.

At least with cash, our transfer kitty will be larger and it would open up more opportunities.

I would of taken Yaya Toure but they have no one I want in their team that are attainable. Maybe take Bojan+Thiago and 25mil? Players in deals like this make it very complicated.

Jay you always have good points, but this is Arsenal and if we get 50 million for Cesc do you see Wenger spending that money. I would like the cash also but not sure if will spend it, I know Wenger with 50 million can do wonders that is if he spends it.

Wenger has always said he isn't opposed to spending a lot of money; it just has to be on the right players.

He's not always had a lot of money to spend. Maybe with a bigger kitty, he'll be more willing to spend.

The most important thing to consider is that we're already in a good position to replace Cesc without having to spend a penny. While it is a gamble to replace him with Ramsey, this can always be helped by perhaps moving Arshavin to a central role, or even dropping van Persie to that role. There's plenty of options that Arsenal can look into before even considering signing a replacement.

So Arsenal cans till focus the majority of their budget on strengthening other areas of the team regardless of whether Cesc leaves or not.

Any of those players are not worth even Fabregas' toenails. A few could be included to soften up the transfer money, such as Afellay who's a great player and would walk into our team, but it would still be like 35m+Afellay. Which is still serious money.

The rest of them don't interest me. I'd rather we get cold hard cash to really look for a quality replacement.

Cash for sure. None of Barcas players they'd be willing to sell would improve our squad enough.

I'd take Sneijder in, then 15m left over to invest in a DM or a striker.

Cash because who could Barcelona offer that would cover up some of the transfer fee other than the first stringers. Unless, Arsenal wouldn't mind taking 2-3 players + cash in exchange for Fabregas which would be ridiculous.

Cash or Cash +Bojan that's about it for me.

I am happy with the cash.. Barca will be offering some young strikers or youth midfielders at the maximum.. Afellay is out of the question.. Its sure they will not give him.. We cant get any players good enough to replace Cesc in his position.. So go for the maximum cash..

the real question is how much should we pay to get rid of players like almunia/rosicky and denilson

One thing we could say is that if we get rid of almunia and rosicky, thats 100k of wages we can give to other people.

Yeah, they won't come at big prices, but at least they will save up a lot of the wage budget. If Bendtner goes that's another 50k.

I'd say 8m for Deanilson and like 2m or something for Almunia

Cesc ain't leaving this summer.. Don't see it happening..

But yes, preening our squad of all the deadwood and the numbers that provide nothing on the pitch is a good way to save some money..
