and no chad, messi is a better player, he has a more complete game as well.

nah ron can do everything messi does, he is just too much off a douche to utilize all his skills, ron just wants to catch the headlines for himself

lol, even if ronaldo tries hard and work at it he will never have the kind of playmaking skills and vision messi have. not in his range

ronaldo is the more complete goalscorer alive, messi just has a better game, greater range.

since when does a player have skills and he doesnt use them confused

i

nick you gotta be kidding ron can play make just as much as messi imo, we have seen it a million times when ron see's an open player right next to goal, and he still shoots into a crowd of players that him being a douche and not utilizing his skills, but when he does score and decides to be a team player he is very good, people just love to write off that side of his game because he is very selfish player overall

Chad Messi's play making is superior to Ronaldo's.

he can? does he? Messi is playing as an enganche+n.9 for barca, it's not in ronaldo's range. The playmaking and passing game messi has, is our of his reach. Have you seen the kind of passes messi pulls out? hmmm Ronaldo isnt there yet.

making a side pass when you have a player next to you, doesnt make you a playmaker. Even if he does pass more often, it only speaks for his decision making and his altruism. I'm not saying Ronaldo is selfish, im saying he isnt as complete of a footballer as Messi, you can admit to that much, it's not a crime.

when ronaldo pulls out a pass like this, let me know

same with this pass for Aguero

it's not an insult on ronaldo, it's not just the range of his football.

Messi is a better play maker I agree on that one it is kinda obvious anyway , but Ronaldo is the most all rounded player in the world.

Well they do play different positions but Ronaldo is faster, stronger, great headerer of the ball, both footed, better shot and more power.

Ronaldo is a goalscorer. Messi is a playmaker and a goalscorer. Messi has performed vs us in other Clasicos and by us fielding so many DM's it just goes to show we need all that to stop him. Ronaldo's played what.. 6/7 times vs Barca and barely done anything.

Also strength really doesn't matter. If it did then Messi would suck. This isn't FIFA. Laughing

Also Barca don't really rely on heading. Football is better when it's played by feet, not the head. And shooting isn't all about power, Messi probably has power, but he prefers accuracy.

You forgot they have Xaviesta that makes things easy for Messi. Next season I believe will determine who is the better player once and for all.

They aren't really similar players are they? I don't really see the incessant need to compare the both of them, just because they are no. 1 and 2.

Ronaldo doesn't really need Xavi and Iniesta though. Alonso suits Ronaldo more because he's direct.

your saying if ron makes a simple passes to put a players through on goal means less than messi, come on nick assists are assists and if he tried to pass to the open man more, he could have easily racked up 20+ assist last season

and couple sick passes in this vid as well, i agree that messi makes more difficult through passes doesn't mean ron cant either that all im saying

Ronaldo's passing ability is under estimated because of his greediness. He has played some amazing passes he just does not do it enough, hopefully it will change next season.

Ronaldo cant, because if he could, we would have seen it by now. Messi makes more difficult passes in general, and they always look sharper and more accurate as well. He just has much more quality in that area of his game.

Fact is ronaldo doesnt make those 20+ assists... im not in the business of coulda woulda shoulda. making assists btw =/= great passer. Di maria racks up plenty of assists as well, but his passing is incredibly inconsistent.

still some quality passes in the vid, anyway should ron choose to be more of a team player next season then more should agree he is on par with messi which he rightfully is

Imo, he can only match him by his performances, scoring etc... making smart decisions etc..

I cant see him growing his game the way messi did now, why not, he could, but he is as different to messi as Del Piero was to Ronaldo.

Exactly TEAM based. So many of Messi's goals last season was due to excellent link up play with Alves, Iniesta and Pedro. Thing is Barca are more of a team than us right now and any player in the world playing for Barca would be better than they would be in any other team.

Kind of agree, I mean look at pedro, he's not even that good and he looks like the best inside forward in la liga with barca Very Happy

Afellay would own him Very Happy . Just give it a year or two.

Many people say ronaldo is just an athlete, but I saw his highlights with portugal vs norway, and although he wasn't that great, his first touch was very good. Not to mention a great athlete can't be as good at freestyling football as him. It's just because messi is such a good dribbler + first touch that many of you underrate ronaldo's technique and just call him a brute.

They need the skill and ability to play in Barca's system too. It wouldn't really work if say Khedira and Alonso were the CM's instead of Xavi and Iniesta.

I know that I am a fanboy, but WHY is every other post you post some bash of Xabi Alonso?
WHYYYYY THIS HATRED?

Btw, Xavi and many others have rooted for Alonso joining Barcelona and there was interest for a while, just so you know.

Khedira, fair enough, but Alonso isn't that much worse than Xavi or Iniesta...
Most would even agree that Alonso was better in the WC than Xavi.

But still, why do you rate him so low, where general consensus is is that he was one of our most important players this season and considered one of the best in the world?

Alonso is probably on Xavi or Iniesta's level but his playing style wouldn't suit Barca. Xavi and Iniesta have much much better dribbling than Alonso and can go from box to box playmaking.

When Alonso isn't playing we lack creativity, but that's simply because there's a lack of competent playmakers in our squad.
