Re: Super Frank speaks
Too bad Pastore is coming. Not too sure whether he'll permanently have the holding role.

Re: Super Frank speaks
I think AVB is considering him as a versatile midfielder. He will be our Super Frankie Super Sub! I love that tbh. He will be in the playing XI most of the time that way and that gives the squad a huge boost as well.
Re: Super Frank speaks
I don't get what the point is in playing him as a holding mid in 4-2-3-1 formation?? Having Ramires and Mikel makes more sense....we can't just play there just to play there...
If he's not good enough then it's the bench.

The thing is this, say its around the 60 min mark and we are trailing by one goal. Lamps moves back to Ramires's position while Pastore or McE is subbed for Ramires. That means Lampard in the right holding MF role while McE/Pastore is playing at the CAM/CM position. This gives us an added attacking advantage+ Lampards experience towards the end point of a game is vital. I really am in favour of this move by AVB. Its simply brilliant... but that would be brilliant if Lampard plays well in that position ofcourse lol
Re: Super Frank speaks
Lampard was only played for his goals in his career. He isn't going to get goals at a holding midfield role. His job over there will be to hold the midfield together, and there's no way he can make late runs from there and get goals towards the end of the game. Ramires and Mikel will do a better job over there and they are meant to play there, while Lampard is not. Really this will be a case of playing him for the sake of playing him because he is Frank Lampard. Unfair to Romeu, Mikel and Ramires.

Re: Super Frank speaks
We have 3 forwards ahead of him.. there wont be a need for Frank to get 20+ goals next season..
