The only thing that makes me skeptical with the report is the incentive for Courtois to sign an extension with us. If he doesn't sign one, he can leave to whatever club he wants and he knows he's high on the wanted list.

Exactly. That's why I'm taking anything I read about this with a grain of salt for now.

This is actually pretty good, because Cech is still incredible, and I don't want him to leave us. Courtois knows he is cech's heir, but this way both can be happy, as both teams are title potentials and will have CL

I'd take that, an Extension is a must, we've gotta show Courtois that Chelsea is his future before anything else.

It is yet to see how he will cope with the enormous pressure he'll have for the remainder of the season with Atlético and in the World Cup but he's easily a top 3 GK in the world. Cech is  one of the best players we have IMO and a club legend alongside Terry and Lampard and it's hard to just imagine to see him being sold or benched.

Like I said, Courtois is a world class GK, I doubt that he'll want to remain a youngster at loan at another club because he isn't still ready to become a regular at Chelsea, and since Atlético has now become one of the european giants they'll try to buy him or move on with another GK. We can't just procrastinate, we'll have to make the decision

I think it is important to send someone like Emanelo to Spain to talk to Courtois, work something out so all parties know what is going on.
