what a beautiful return to CL football, best football we've played all season, slick with urgency from start to finish... just in time for the NLD

What a great return to the CL that was for Arsenal.
Trossard, Sodegaard, Saka and Rice were the players of the match, for sure. Even Havertz had good control in that match. Surley that was his best game in an Arsenal shirt yet. His finishing was poor, though.
Trossard surley needs to start more matches now after thar performance last night.

Trossard is an absolute boss.
Sorry Martinelli but this guy needs to play.

Re: Champions League 2023/24 | Group B
Martinelli from whenever I watch Arsenal is also a boss though right? This is the exact kind of comp for places though nowadays in the top clubs. Looks some the attacking options the likes of Man C, Arsenal, Liverpool, Bayern, PSG, etc., numerous players warming the bench, unfortunate since we dont get the warm these exciting footballers even more if they all started games
Maybe Flick when he manages one of these clubs with his all out attack style he can integrate them together, or if Pep evolves into that

Martinelli is more like float like s butterfly, and Trossard sting like a bee.
Just seems more clinical and concrete.

Personally, i'd even start Trossard ahead of Jesus at the 9, or Havertz at the left 8. But yea, Trossard over Martinelli.

And Jesus scores, if he can stay fit this can be the best Arsenal team of all time

Believe it or not, Lens is in 15th place in Ligue 1 with a -5 goal differential. But they've been looking better lately. This should really get them going now.
Haise is a very good manager imo.

damn, and here i was expecting some dogstyle European night away from home... literally everyone in Europe these days except for Sean Dyche and Ten Hag play some form of possession-based football and gegenpressing. Despite our shortcomings, i was more impressed by Lens than i was disappointed in our performance.

Havertz looks very poor at the moment. I have no idea why Arteta decided to spend so much money on him. Raya looked poor last night too. Arteta needs to bring Ramsdale back into the GK position.

Raya made one mistake, and Lens still had lots to do to score. Let's not start yo-yo'ing keepers now pls.

It's a very very good home crowd at Lens. They're known for player development more than anything else. Varane is the most well known recent graduate. But Brice Samba, Kondogbia, Areola, Jonathan Clauss, etc were also formed here of the active players.

Why was Ramsdale changed in the first place?El Gunner wrote:Raya made one mistake, and Lens still had lots to do to score. Let's not start yo-yo'ing keepers now pls.

not necessarily... Ramsdale is good, but Raya offers more in terms of passing and confidence under the high ball

Re: Champions League 2023/24 | Group B
Personally, I think Ramsdale is more reliable and less prone to GK errors. And Ramsdale is better in 1 v 1 situations. I do agree that Raya is better at passing and stopping high balls, though.
That Saka injury looks bad for Arsenal. It sucks that he'll be ruled out for the next few England games too, since he's one of our most skilled and creative midfielders, IMO.

Re: Champions League 2023/24 | Group B
personally i don't know how regularly you watch Arsenal play, along with Ramsdale and Raya at Brentford, so i don't know whether i can take your personal opinion serious...
this doesn't just go for you, but lots of people online these days... i've noticed there are lots of people with agendas for some reason. They barely watch the games, but they just want to get in on the conversations online, so they attach themselves to their favourite narratives... a lot of white British people are already of the agenda that Ramsdale is better, that's something i've noticed, when on the contrary all the advanced stats favour Raya
