Re: Ligue 1 2023/24
Fabian Ruiz gets a start... and was atrocious. Danilo Perreira as well. But really, Fabian needs to be sold or put on the B team. He brings literally nothing. Just passes sideways.
Other people were average... but it starts in the midfield. PSG tried to replace Ugarte and Zaire Emer with Fabian and Danilo. It failed horribly. They were playing the last place team in Ligue 1.
Pretty clear that Danilo cannot play DM, Soler and Fabian are useless and Kolo Muani is average at best right now.

I've been a PSG fan since the Ronaldunho and Okocha days, but there is pleasure in seeing oil fail

Wow... not surprised despite the seriousness of this, but man there needs to be huge change in the France football scene?

Very nice goal by Emery, assisted by a nice flair move from Dembele, but it all started becos Dembele lost the ball as usual, but it meant the defenders got pulled out... thats what u get from Dembele... 10 fails but 1 break through

Re: Ligue 1 2023/24
I think Dembele is starting to play very well tbh. His game is to go at defenses with speed and dribbling. It will automatically have turnovers. However, he and Hakimi are linking very very well. All 3 goals today came from plays started by those two.
Also, Dembele defends... and I mean a lot. Never knew he did that. He literally switches with Hakimi when Hakimi ends up in the box and out of position. It gives Hakimi freedom that he obviously never had with Messi. As a result, he can now play his game and really attack.
Forget the stats. Dembele's been impactful. I thought he was excellent today. Kolo Muani is the one who is disappointing me.

Thats good to hear, Ive always been his fan so watch PSG in part for him too n hope he does well He still needs to cut out his weaknesses though but it seems built in him so not sure if thats possible ever
Mauni seems to be a clumsy bulldozer type while Ramos seems a poacher type... either seem great, hope Im wrong n they keep improving... despite the issues we have seen, I think PSG has great potential... have too many great players in there, need to do better in the CL... bookies have them behind us and Arsenal, which is strange considering how bad we are lol....

Concedes the last second equaliser from Asensio's assist Cant say not deserved though.... only up with Mbappe pen anyway... lots of work to do still... Need to find a proper decent no.9 instead of playing Mbappe there...

Good actually. He's getting the team to play with some character and more simply. Between Bielsa, Sampaoli, Tudor, etc., I felt OM was more a beta testing team than a real one lol.
Aubamayang has found his feet finally, which is the key too frankly.
In short, doing well.

Re: Ligue 1 2023/24
Very much appreciate the reply.
I quite liked Reno for most of his Milan stint he just is stubborn and doesn't respond well to situations that are sticky.
I think Gattuso and Marseille are perfect for one another given his fiery personality and their ballistic fans. Fully behind them in Europa League & Ligue 1 even if Lyon is my favourite French team.

Re: Ligue 1 2023/24
PSG not good enough... if they stay like this for the second half of the season, wont get far in the CL?
Dembele backup needs to be better than Munai, Lee n Barcola on the left are decent but nothing special. Ugarte looks very limited, basically just a pure DM who does nothing at all when in possession? Mbappe is stuck in CF nowadays which is not best position... Enrique needs to do better...

Lyon turning things around, hopefully stays that way. Dont want to see them relegated, would be wild.

Mbappe with a brace on his birthday. 52 goals in 53 games for the calendar year 2023.

Yeah Im kind of ready to see Mbappe move teams now. He is 25, PSG is nowhere near exciting of a project as they once were and haven't been for years, no, 37 year old Messi barely changed that plus he flopped in Paris.
Man is the best player in world. Time for the big step.

The new owner of Lyon is distasteful though... similar to the owner of OM. Americans shouldn't own European clubs I've come to notice. They have no passion for the game. It's all about making money regardless of club results.

Re: Ligue 1 2023/24
PSG beats last seasons second place Lens... Mbappe with yet another nice goal, though it was vs 10 men. Lens managed to trouble PSG quite a bit despite that So it says a lot about PSGs problem still. Cant help but feel Marquinhos is either overrated af, or just aging, but PSG never look comfortable in defense n hes ever present in it lol.... Solar at RB, just another mucking around Enrique likes to do

Re: Ligue 1 2023/24
PSG 3-1 Lille n extends the lead, without Mbappe playing. Asensio playing sort of an AM nowadays n Enrique often going for attacking FBs as well as wingers, so little defending
Dembele has really changed though, presses n defends, n is the top assister in the league. Think Mbappe leaving he might realize now hes the no.10 n will lead the attack instead being a supporting role... n hopefully he contines to evolve.

So Marseille sack Gattuso already... so much for his managerial career... already going downhill from here?

Really the season went sideways losing their CL spot in additional time AT HOME in the last qualifying round and then Marcelino quitting (shameful how he quit). Then the fans attacked Langoria (for good cause) and he checked out pretty much since September.
OM should have cruised to the podium in Ligue 1. Now, it's a nothing season.
Typical McCourt. He was a shit owner with the Dodgers and got kicked out (literally) by force. Now with OM, he's going to sell without a doubt IMO this summer. Hopefully a Saudi owner jumps in lol.

Brest will become chanpions at this rate if Mbappe keeps getting benched ffs
Had no idea PSG were so deoendent on him, can Ramos and Kolo Muani really not lead the line for a team like PSG in a league like Ligue 1?

He's been bailing them out for years. It's actually a very competitive league.
Too bad Lyon, Monaco, Marseille, Rennes, etc are having poor years. This would be a dog fight otherwise.
