Not sure if theres a thread for this, but just saw the seeds for the group stage draw, pretty funny that pot 2 feels like its stronger than pot 1? Happens pretty often nowadays Dont remember but the schedules moved forward due to the WC I think?

Weird rule. How can EL winners be in the same pot as the CL winners. Doesn't even make sense

The idea is to increase the value of Europa League I guess.
Also it's called the "champions" league.

The winners of conference league don't make the cut though. I don't know, i find it weird that the winners of the second rate competition make it to pot one whereas the CL finalists don't. The reason why they play in the EL is because they aren't good enough for the CL

I think it’s a nice opportunity for a smaller team to arrive there whereas they wouldn’t be able to achieve it otherwise

I am not against them participating in CL but pot 1 is overdoing it imo. They could base it on coefficient which would put Frankfurt in pot 3 or 4 where no offence to them they belong. But pot 1, nah I can't agree.

It’s not just Eintracht, it’s also Ajax and Porto. It looks like it is the cl champ, el champ and champs of top 6 or 7 leagues. I assume since Madrid was cl and Liga champs, that opened up a spot for 7th league (assume Ajax).

The rest of the pots are based on coefficient numbers and thus pot 2 is restricted to Epl, liga, Bundesliga and Serie A.

Ya, I get the 'spirit' but its just blatant and obvious that a 3rd tier level that belongs to pot 3 is now in pot 1 since they went on a run in EL, it happens time n again through history I guess but they didnt get included in the past in pot 1?

I prefer this rather than coefficients all the way like it used to be. It makes stronger groups and adds some variety imo

The best teams should always make the last 16. By pitting them against eachother in the group stage makes the competition weaker later on

Uefa should put the time when the draw really starts on their website so that we don't have to sit through them talking for ages

This is Cefferin’s way of super league. It will get revised again to have the stronger (super) teams face each other until they are down to one, and the other half of ‘other’’  teams same. So final will be best strong team against an invited team!
