Argentina should be one of the WC favs. They know how to play suffer ball. It's been the same lineup since 2018 and they have the confidence of winning Copa America. I would be shocked if they don't make a deep run.

Italy is absolute crap.
Euro 2020 will be remembered as the overachiement of a mediocre team à la Greece 2004 and not as the resurgence of a giant.

Seems like Fraudssi was indeed saving himself for Argentina. I haven't seen him run like this for a decade

Good match. Great to build confidence. Shame this is not the confed cup and is somehow even more of a mickey mouse cup, but I'll take any silverware at this point.
Hope italy have a generational change and come back to their best.

Yeah I was thinking that too. I don’t know why he was running so much for a glorified friendly but I guess it shows how much trophies with Argentina mean to him

@farfan let's not get crazy, he was still refusing to press when the ball was 5 meters in front of him
But just to set the record straight, he had long covid and couldn't run even for 1.5 months after recovering

Messi wrote:The truth is that he hit me very hard. Symptoms very similar to those of the majority of people I suppose. A lot of cough, sore throat, fever. It left me with many sequelae in the lungs. I couldn’t train. I came back and I was like a month and a half without being able to even run because it had affected my lungs.

Messi chosen MoM, too bad he didn't score the attack he nicked ball from Jorginho around Argentina's box. I think I also spied one flying tackle there too.

It was a terrible lineup. Really felt as the end of a cycle, as Mancini mentioned as well. No Chiesa, Verratti, Insigne, Immobile, Berardi, Zaniolo, Spinazzola, and everyone off form and disjointed. The team looked dismantled physically and mentally.
There is enough of a pool from the next generation for everything but striker, once again it will be a problem. Lot of young players that need time and hopefully a striker steps up.
Argentina look ready to go for the WC, I guess they'll be favorites.

France existed last year too and they lost to Switzerland. Argentina are in much more impressive form. They can win it, as can France.
