I mean, I wouldn't mind watching some Champions League football tonight, but really this mtach promises nothing but an epic borefest, and it's still more attractive than fucking Chelsea against Lille who.. how are they in the knockouts?

I think I'm starting to realise why Juventus fans aren't happy with Allegri. It is not solely their position in Serie A but how negative they play.
Re: UCL Ro16 2021/22 | Villarreal vs Juventus
Booooooring match. Rabiot should have seen red though. apparently VAR works different in every competition.

Was surprised to see Lo Celso playing. Thought he was still at Spurs.

Yes, in general, but if you're referring to the goal, that's on de Ligt

I wish we were a dominating side that can expect to win 2-0 away
But if you look at the players at disposal, there is not much creativity available. Once we score early it makes sense to defend and counter since we don't have any guarantees to score more goals or hold the ball for a long time. We come back home even so technically we got the advantage now. Lack of communication between De Ligt and Rabiot on Villarreal's goal is what cost us the win.
My criticism is Zakaria should come in much earlier, like at half time. Then Locatelli can play Weston's role in transition. Zakaria is a pitbull with high field coverage he can make our overall defense more solid and we don't lose much efficiency in counters.

Do you think it was the right thing to loan/sell Kulusevski to Spurs? Especially with Chiesa out with injury, I don't think it was the smartest move.

We have Arthur and Locatelli, but it's the players why we play like shit

Yes, Kulusevski is not what we need right now. Too raw and not the best fit. It was a good chance to cash in on him and probably better for him too to go to a team like Spurs with lower expectations and more playing time.
It's just a particularly bad time since Chiesa, Dybala, and Bernardeschi are currently injured.

Villarreal were comfortably the better team. State of Juve's midfield. Imagine getting dominated by Etienne Capoue and Dani Parejo in 2022

These are CL teams you are talking about. Imagine not even making it to EL spots from the groups

If you were in the group we were you'd prolly end up with 0 points.
That is if spirit of Moggi didn't possess the refs to suddenly switch sides.

Re: UCL Ro16 2021/22 | Villarreal vs Juventus
Seriously when Allegri will receive criticism for what he's showing ?
There are moments , matches where it is physiological to suffer.
But it is not the case of Juventus.
But Juve under Allegri " predefine" to be inferior, regardless of match, approach is based on inferiority and passivity. And it is incomprehensible.
There is no reason or usefulness in playing like this, it is impoverishment of talent, waste energy, compromising games and seasons.
Basically if Juve score after 30 seconds then they drop and eventually park bus for 89 minutes.
Does it make sense ?

what's the difference between current day Allegri vs the Allegri that dominated Serie A mid 2010s?

As reply to you and others
Pirlo played just one season under Max and Marchisio played 1.5 season (it's actually 3-4 but he was never fit) and Pogba just 2 seasons. His main midfielder was Pjanic never used at his best position for tactical purpose
Because yes since 5 years you can explain many things by looking at our midfield
More so, when Max joins in 2014 he inherits the squad of Conte/Marotta which was already solid. In 2021 he inherits a squad completely devoid of identity with not much talent and terrible midfield. The assumed inferiority Rob talks about is something PROVEN to us in the last months. It's hard to win with Rabiot, Arthur, Bentancur in your starting XI. Our best chance to win is through good defense.
Allegri is not transcending this season and there are managers whose approach is less conservative. He is a pure tactician not a guy who injects grinta in your veins like Conte. Perhaps it was the wrong timing to bring him back but a good summer mercato will change everything. Btw it's a myth that we never try to attack we just lack finishing, our midfield is inept on both sides of the field, if we play agressive we'll just lose the ball and concede. I geniunely believe another coach would not get better results which is what i care about

Warrior said a lot of it.
These team showed that they cannot dominate games like the club needs them too. Sarri and Pirlo tried that. Allegri at the start of the season tried some too. Mentally, tactically, and in terms of skillset, a lot of players in the squad need to be managed in a different way to get consistent results.
We are the team with most points since October. If not for the horrendous start we'd be top of the league. Juve is on a 18 match unbeaten streak except for the 120' minute goal in the super cup.
We have no Chiesa and often no Dybala yet we are still on a good streak.

I have nothing but love and respect for the Jj family. You guys keep me duly informed of all things Serie A and in general, pleasant souls to engage an argument or two.
But you see this result, this damn result, it puts a smile on my face.
