Re: The Official LaLiga Thread
Which teams actually have a great midfield? Most teams have a bunch of jobbers in midfield. As long as Gavi and Pedri work as hard as they've done and get better players behind them they'll be able to compete no doubt about it. Maybe not with DeJong because he is an overhyped poor mans Parejo. Another CDM that can protect their backline such as Touchemani (sp)

Re: The Official LaLiga Thread
I think what Hala is saying, you have a lot of talented youth right now, almost all from your academy, which is better than anyone else right now. I would agree with you to that point.
But the other issue is like all young talent, they are still relatively unproven, with some over hyping. A lot can happen, they get swelled heads, they get injured, etc.
Barca would be in great shape if they had these kids surrounded with proven veterans! but alas that is not the case. The seniors on the squad are frankly awful and therein lies the problem. Normally you could buy these players but the financial shape of club is like the veterans awful.
I still maintain that it will be 2 or 3 years before Barca can rise to elite status again!
If i look at lineup versus other liga teams, i still say you will be in a dog fight for conference liga, not Europa and certainly Champions!

So nostalgic watching that, back late 90s when Van Gaal won the double with Barca, etc., was completely different times in terms of TV coverage n no internet, meaning La Liga was a rare occasional treat n often just highlights only
If only it had the coverage it had today... some amazing dramas n football.

Plus that frontline will easily put you in the top 2. A few defenders next season and you'll be back to challenging for the title
Alba, Busquets and Pique are about 4 years past their use by date
I didnt mean to imply that. Obviously the big problem last season was the Pedri got overplayed way too much thats why i assume they'll get rotated with each other
But Xavi will for sure try every combination possible

yes and some of Barca section football pundits don't understand that. Look what Xavi said after Osasuna draw:
"The players who are making a difference at the moment at Barca are 17, 18 and 19 years old. It is very positive for the future of the club, but it is also negative - they are so young that they will not always have this level.
Abde [Ezzalzoul]'s game is spectacular, and those of Gavi and Nico, but they cannot be the pillars. Here we have another problem. We have to work and connect everyone"

Dani Alves recently said how he’d never come back to Barcelona under Barto.
Barto leaked a WhatsApp convo between the two were Alves either asked him or offered him self to Barcelona when Barto was still president.

Re: The Official LaLiga Thread
Seriously doubt if a former president would share a screenshot. Did he personally share this screenshot or is it a "leak"?
Re: The Official LaLiga Thread
It was a "leak" but everyone knows it was deliberate probably to stand up for himself without being petty in front of the camera

Re: The Official LaLiga Thread
Thing is nobody can "leak" a WhatsApp conversation other than the people in the conversation i.e. Fartomeu. I smell fake tbh.

Re: The Official LaLiga Thread
1st loss in 11 games but alright.
Also, when Militao did that nonsense, I wrote this off as a loss one time. Clearly the new year's festivities are still going through their system.
Good win Hey-tafe.

Re: The Official LaLiga Thread
Barça time-wasting from 80th minute til full time was hilarious. Definitely a sign of iNsTaNt iMpRoVeMeNtZ when you're doing that against a team at the bottom fourth of the league

Re: The Official LaLiga Thread
I enjoy the meme but dude this game is irrelevant. None of these players will be starters in the future except Nico, Frenkie and Ter Superman and even for them it's not a given.

Re: The Official LaLiga Thread
Yea luckily I watched the replay n fast forwarded most of the terrible game to watch
Have to keep reminding myself that it was half a B team so I guess it was a good performance under circumstances? Actually NO
An opponent which even Luuk manage to dominate n score + overhead kick onto the bar n another shot hitting the post says all about Mallorca's level
Anyway, 3 points it was, we will prolly see many more of these games where performance dont matter much...
As for Real, no surprised, they live in luxury so still not fully back yet + Vini out. I thought Modric had another pretty amazing game though... still dominates most games at 36...

Re: The Official LaLiga Thread
Something something somewhere in a small potato farm someone called Alex is contemplating suicide.
Someone save him.
Barça are down 0-1 to a 3rd division team that sounds like a pornstar.

Re: The Official LaLiga Thread
Puig was so bad, hopefully the many cules that still rate him for some reason finally get it, he belongs to Barca C, not even B, seriously, its mind boggling. Second half Xavi brings on the real players n although we still didnt create much, we were much better in control simply with De Jong n Pique there instead of Puig n Araujo, the ladder must have been injured or something since hes been a favourite
Dembele magic gets the equaliser n Yuglar wins it. Similar to Real we left it late to beat minnows, goes to show the level we are all at this season, along with Atletico... Jan. is gonna be like this, hopefully after Feb n everyone gets over Covid we will start to see some real progress.

Re: The Official LaLiga Thread
The problem with puig is that he will be 23 this year but is still less mature than Pedri, Gavi and Nico who are 3-5 years younger. He hasnt made much progress in 3 years.
