Earlier this week, someone disputed that Barca wouldn’t end up the season in a top 4 spot! Well take a look at current squad and compare to the top ten teams in la liga. It should be obvious that the current squad can not compete for a top 4 position, particularly with a rookie coach!

So we now go into Christmas break, just i week short of mid season. All delayed games have been played plus Tebas jammed in another game (Ath- RMad) just to piss Perez off, but Perez got the last laugh.

Madrid now 8 points up on Sevilla, 16 points up on the pack.
Sevilla solidly in second, 5 points up on Betis, and 8 points up on the pack.
Betis has a firm hold on third by 3 points.

And then there is the pack, 12 teams separated by only 10 points!!

Where will Ferran Torres playing anyway? I assume LW considering his versatile n Dembele is RW? Or fales 9 Pep style in the middle somwhere with Abde left I guess...  guess that would mean we have some more ball progression in the middle apart from Gavi n runs from Frankie atm, I know Torres also has great movement in n around the box, but just dont see him great in the box to finish chances... what would also mean benching Depay or playing him LW...  just feels so weird again

Interesting so Pedri and Gavi won't play together?

Plus that frontline will easily put you in the top 2. A few defenders next season and you'll be back to challenging for the title

Alba, Busquets and Pique are about 4 years past their use by date

Everyone overrates our youngsters, Gavi is 17. Even if him n Pedri played together with De Jong behind, dont think we would dominate any top teams or even just compete physically yet. We talking about vs top MFs in their primes those top teams, so unless they do that consistently first I wont be convinced. Similarly with the front line, Dembele is hot n cold n mostly never showed he can deliver vs the top teams reliably. Ferran is maybe a bit better than Depay level n even Fati is overrated until he proves it vs the top teams consistently which he hasnt

La Liga might be weaker atm, but we arent getting top 2 next season. Also gotta anticipate if we dont make the CL we wont have much attractiveness or money to get those top tier players we want.

Which teams actually have a great midfield? Most teams have a bunch of jobbers in midfield. As long as Gavi and Pedri work as hard as they've done and get better players behind them they'll be able to compete no doubt about it. Maybe not with DeJong because he is an overhyped poor mans Parejo. Another CDM that can protect their backline such as Touchemani (sp)
