Re: EURO 2020 - Group A
This makes me wish Italy had stronger opponents in its group. They're doing so well, but it's kind hard to assess them against the likes of Portugal, Belgium and France when they've beaten 2 rather poor opponents so easily.

Well yeah eventually. I guess I'm just impatient for those matchups.

Re: EURO 2020 - Group A
Italy have the material to win the Euro tbh. Certainly candidates at this point. I never thought they'd blow away their opponents like they have thus far but with the players they have they can make it happen

Curious to see if Belotti starts the next match. I don't want to be negative but i would definitely warm him up.

Re: EURO 2020 - Group A
Basically another near perfect performance but it only worries me further.
I've spoken of my concerns how Mancini's side is not exactly tested bar maybe Netherlands as Rincon corrected me, in their victory.
But 6 goals in 2 games, none conceded is concerning and why? Turkey and Switzerland are big names but dont exactly scream fear into the hearts of their opposition.
Turkey seem to be a team with perpetually washed up tubby players looking for a paycheck whereas Switzerland aren't the Hitzfeld led Die Schweiz that they were some years ago.
In fact they are mostly past their best, whatever they had.
But this has been the story of Mancini's side since qualifying.
Perfect record and utterly perfect start to the Euros but someone raise their hand with me if they see their first true challenge, going down in shambles.
Is it reflective of their ability? No but if one is tested in a tourney might as well be challenged as much as possible early, no?
They've shown bouts of mental weakness to which is a microcosm to their own players. Immobile an example, one who holds so many demons of missed chances for Italia, that he shows it with each miss on the pitch.
Yes he has scored two in two games now, his recent one a total stunner but will he show up versus the better teams?
For Lazio its what he does best in fact but he is so held back by his failures for Italy that I hope it does not catch up to him vs France/Belgium/Portugal//.
Italy when in trouble do respond though, but a bit too late and a bit too emotionally, if that makes sense. I just wonder if in their coming challenges past a group that is pretty much conquered, if they can withstand what a top international team will bring.
Are they technically the best so far? By far and away as so dominant they are and hungry for the ball without possession that its a spectacle to watch, to where even English pundits aren't mentioning tired old stereotypes
(They still are)
Individually its easy to comment on the team. Immobile is coming through for the team, Insigne is a creative storm when on the ball from the left. Locatelli and the ridiculously skilled Barella dominate the midfield whereas UCL winner Jorginho sets its tempo.
The centre-back pairing of Cheillini and Leo seems a bit frail as they lack pace to defend quick turns and what not so that may be a glaring issue ahead.
Berardi I prefer him benched for Cheisa though. Chiesa does not have the chemistry needed but Berardi skill aside is not showing up so far.
All-in-all it just seems like a team who will collapse at any real challenge they face and I hope I am wrong, and ridiculed for this opinion as its about time Italy redeem themselves in a competition they've gotten oh so close to winning, so many times.

I'm surprised Mancini brought on Chiesa and not Raspadori for the 352 last night. Would have been then perfect position to give him game time.

Re: EURO 2020 - Group A
I never knew Wales was Galles in Italian
I turned on ZDF to watch the game, there's a female commentator who tries hard to sound manly, annoying as f***. I don't have anything against females, she is just annoying.
I'm running a very low resolutio Italian stream parallel to muted ZDF to get a proper commentator..

Re: EURO 2020 - Group A
I feel the team had too many substitutions.
They are not moving with the same fluidity as the last two games. However, credit also to Wales which is not a pushover tea.

And just as say that, a goal from a set-piece by Pessina.
Wales with +1 GD. Switzerland with -1 GD.

Already two other clear chances since the goal, Pessina almost had a second.
He is a really useful midfielder for this team.

We laid him an offer of 4m p/y since January, he isnt satisfied and initially wanted 7m claiming to be the ticking timepiece of this team. We stood by the 4m, then in turn Hakan said he would decide after the Euros, thinking his value would skyrocket and he'll receive offer from United, Atletico and Bayern. Keep in mind he was courting Bayern earlier this season, and a few weeks ago he was courting Atletico and Galatasaray.
Hope he fucks off

We should reduce our wage offer at the least.
His stock just plummeted in price
