Ilaix Moriba
Very impressive short cameo again.
He seems to have what Puig, Alena and Pedri do not, the ability the move into the box and be a danger to score. He seems to find a way to get a shot at goal every time he features, regardless of how limited the time.
Very unlucky to hit the crossbar right at the end.
Any talk of Wijnaldum should end immediately. He has leapfrogged over Pjanic, Puig and whoever else we want to call upon in midfield outside the main 3.

Agreed. He has an edge to his game. Desperately needed in a team like ours.

Re: Ilaix Moriba
Very disappointing what is happening here.
The boy is getting alot of criticism for how his team have handled the renewal.
He obviously wants to continue at Barca, but it seems his team are demanding more money than we are willing to pay. A substantial increase, talks of nearing 100k.
As such, despite a significant release clause, we could end up selling for 25-30m to Chelsea or another interested party.

Dont blame the club here. He is 18 and has like 5 appearances for the senior team. Not to mention, we gave him a crazy contract at 16. At some point, we have to implement a wage structure across the entire team. Youth team players should be no exception. If he wants a crazy contract, he is welcome to leave.

Not even that good specially not good enough to ask for such a raise. His agents are probably emboldened by our crazy wage structure but if thats the case then he is welcome to leave indeed.

Re: Ilaix Moriba
Agree. I am disappointed in terms of how he is being handled by his agent or management, whoever it is.
This should not be happening, this is where I question the ethics of agents. The club wants him, the player wants to stay, but this is being clouded by outside interference.
Its already negative, even if there is a renewal, because he hasnt been able to be with the team during the preseason.

Reports of him going to Spurs for 20m. Great business if true. I doubt it though. We sell our players for peanuts. Now if it was Madrid, would definitely belive it.

Re: Ilaix Moriba
If we cant sell him for 15m+ he should sit out the season on the stands. Absolute drivel goes for more money these days and he's a decent youngster, its about time we stopped being deceived on transfers matters, laporta needs to show he's not a muppet like faromeu and Ro$ell

Re: Ilaix Moriba
Sucks to lose him, as this is a time for some youth to bleed into the first team, but his demands were a bit high for someone at his level and time he's played for the first team. 15m-20m is great business.

Re: Ilaix Moriba
His behaviour tells me you should sell him for as much as you can get. The guy is no diamond in a rough, he's a total clown who is up in his own ass. Who the fuck does he think he is?

Part of me understands from a professional stand point of view, but this was his best chance at a top club. Koeman also took a liking to him, he would've played a lot and developed, I mean he can still at Spurs, but who knows how things will go from there.

Re: Ilaix Moriba
Watching at least 2 decades of football rarely if ever have I seen a player who is so up in his own arse succeed, especially at this age. To me this is not a professional stand, it is a question of discipline, work ethic and entitlement.Winter is Coming wrote:danyjr wrote:His behaviour tells me you should sell him for as much as you can get. Unfortunately I see more and more young players (also youngsters in other professions) wanting early gratification while doing less to achieve it. And in Moriba's case he seems to have surrounded himself by toxic people who have their short sighted interests in mind.
You'll be okay without him. He will be another Balotelli.

Seems like Spurs will agree to 20m, bye clown

Re: Ilaix Moriba
Off to RB Leipzig.
The deal for the 18-year-old is worth an initial €16 million, but could rise to €22m with bonuses. Barcelona will also retain a 10 per cent sell-on fee.

Re: Ilaix Moriba
Another one we had to sell to raise funds I guess? Not too bothered, but we are bare thin squad wise with all the injuries etc... anyway, we are always stuck with the likes of Puig as backup anyway so its ok loool...

No buy back option. Just a 10% sell on fee on any future sales.BarrileteCosmico wrote:Hope we tied a buyback on him
Re: Ilaix Moriba
10% of the future deal works for me, he will get another move to a bigger club at some point because he is a talent.
But I have no interest in a buy back, no regret about the sale either. His team or whoever it is, has advised him very poorly.

Re: Ilaix Moriba
So this idiot went to Leipzig only not to get played and now to Valencia on loan for the remained of the season.

Who cares, no where good enough for Barca, so inevitably they move on? Unlike scrubs like Roberto/Puig still trying to cheat their way into the first team playing time instead of giving others who actually are good enough to deserve it
