Why should I respond to your post with the way you've replied to my posts? That alone is enough to put someone off debating with you. "Oh, I'll just put a  just to show how smart I am", there's really no need. Have a little self-respect, even though this is the internet. You know what, I can actually give you a decent post explaining why, but should I really be wasting my time? I mean, I don't know who those other posters are, apart from Ali, because I'm pretty much new to this forum. I think, during my brief period on this forum, I've proved to be a decent poster, you can see I put a lot of thought into my posts - I actually take the time to type out big posts, but all these LOLs coming about are annoying. I use them to mock specific members. Lastly, I think most people know that I can easily give the reasons why - in depth ones, too.

Good day.

Dude, you can't be so sensitive and I apologize if I came off a certain way in my post's. This is not the first time the 50 debate has some up and I honestly want to hear your opinion on 50 (I wouldn't have asked if i didn't). I didn't put a  to show how smart I am. If you knew me and read my posts you would know that's not the case. If you're going to post in this thread you should get to know Adnyana and dmize (quality posters) and I'm actually cool with Ali (just didn't like how sensitive he got). Most things in life are about opinion and I understand that, I'm just here for intellectual debate. There is no right or wrong when it comes to music.

You claim that it would be a waste to type up a message explaining why you feel this way about 50, yet you took the time to type out a paragraph explaining why you won't explain your thought's on 50. Maybe you have proven to be a good poster in your short time here, but I feel as if I've proven the same thing. We can't rely on what we think others know about us, I haven't come across many of your posts and I actually want to hear what you have to say.

What does that even have to do with me? I don't like to speak for others, but I'd love to hear these reasons and I think some others would be interested. If you go back a few pages you'll see a very in depth debate about 50 and we're still waiting for someone to respond to them.

We might have started off on the wrong foot, but that's not the case anymore. If you still want to hold a grudge over my post's, that's your choice. I didn't mean to come off that way and I apologize if it made you feel a certain type of way.

A song that came up when me and my boy were discussing 50 and his impact on the mixtape game...

50 Cent got a deal off his mixtapes and I don;t know if anyone before him had done that, so in that way he revolutionized the mixtape game. His overall impact on rap can be described as revolutional I guess too with GRoDT, G-Unit, etc. I can't deny he used to be a great rapper, however I think he's a shadow of himself at this point.

I know it's not rap but House of Balloons = album of the year in all genres. I just can't think of a hip-hop album that comes close tbh. I like Section 80, TM103, Undun, Sideline Story, Well-Done, LiveLoveAsap(Clams Casino is gotta be producer of the year. Beats he's made for Lil B and Asap this year were ridic), Dreamer and Believer, etc. There were also tons of good mixtapes this year Friend of the People, Lincoln Way Nights, MM4.5 etc.

Crooked wrapping up the year. His drops this year were pretty decent, albeit just EPs and nothing more. Looking for that sophomore Slaughterhouse album to live up to hype in 2012.

IMO Tech's flow and control are not near Nas' level, but he can hit you hard because he's so direct and intense in his views and delivery. At his best (Rev. 1 & 2), he had me a fan but I think he has dropped the ball since then.

Having said that, I don't think they are overly comparable as Nas has brought more versatility and dimensions to the table. If you like artists along the lines of IT, try Jedi Mind Tricks or Dead Prez (the latter one of my favorite duos).

While everyone is making lists and rankings, my rough 5 for mixtapes would be like this:

Big K.R.I.T. - "Returnof4eva"
Elzhi - "Elmatic"
Lloyd Banks - "Cold Corner 2"
Jon Connor - "Season 2"
Pusha - "Fear of God"

@ gladiator - Nice list. How far off were albums by Phonte and Pharoahe Monch? I thought they were better than a few of those you mentioned.

Yeah, should be higher on the list, but I haven't listened to the full albums hence they're not on my list.

What are your verses of the year?

Some that come to mind:

Freddie Gibbs - Scottie Pippen
Kendrick Lamar - Kush & Corinthians
Nas - Nasty

I'll update with some others cause I know I'm forgetting a ton.

Hah, it's a parody. The first one he parodied "Hard in the Paint". For being a joke song, I actually think the bars are pretty clever. Quotables for days.

"heard Bin Laden was missin, and Khadafi was trippin.. Somebody bodied them n1kkas, exploded bombs on the building"

"I laugh often at Bachman she don't pose no threats. Mitt Romney ass n1kkas don't get my respect."

"Shout outs to my Hawaii nikkas, catch that wave!" Laughing

Doe's anyone know where i can find a list of the hip hop albums of 2011 because i sorta ignored it last year lol......

As the Saltillo post shows i have been listening to a wide variation of different music and probably neglected others a bit......

I'd especially like to know if any vets released some albums and if so are they worth me tracking them down, most of the new guys i aint really interested in tbh.

^ Yeah thats a dope song. I like most of that "Trouble" album.

Akon used to have the hook game on lock. "Snitch", "Soul Survivor", "Locked up" , "Boss Life", "Certified", "We Takin Over", "Gangsta Bop"

I think Soul Survivor is still my favorite to this day, though.
