I have all the respect for AZ, but he needs to quit the games on a future with Nas.

I actually hadn't even heard about this, from time to time I forget to keep up with JBTV and Budden. I tend to prefer when Joe does his own thing on a track, but some of those names he threw out had my interested.

To be honest, Lamar and The Roots are the best currently in rap. The former lacks enthusiasm, but overall, Section.80 was fantastic. The latter seem to get better and better, every time I think they're going to degrade in quality - they come up with something special.

Haha, yeah, but The Roots should be on everyone's top 5 list of best rap albums this year.

Guys, what's your consensus regarding 50 cent? Not the present mediocre one, but the past one.

Power Of The Dollar = great
GRODT = classic
Massacre = classic
Curtis = bad
BISD = good
but all his mixtapes are classics and if anyone can doubt that then they have no idea what they're talking about. He changed the mixtape game.

All 6's and 7's (album of the year hands down)
R.E.D. Album
Section.80
Welcome To Strangeland/Bad Meets Evil/Undun
This year was all about the mixtape though

"Power of the Dollar" his best album, while everything after "Get Rich.." turned out disappointing.
Some of my favs from his early days:

Guess Who's Back is the only memorable 50 mixtape, honestly can't think of any others. Maybe a couple G Unit radios.
Ghost Unit, YKWII 3 & 4, Stop Snitchin, Stop Lyin >> 50's mixtapes

It's pure stannery. There's tons of artists with a better mixtape catalog. Young Jeezy, Game, Wayne all come to mind.

Re: The Official Rap Thread part 1
This song was so tight when it dropped.
Also, 50s tape was pretty dope as well, it spawned 4 hits so far (1 million+ views).
Today I was thinking, damn Eminem has had some effect on the rap game, so many classics under his belt, Encore (considered his worst album) has some dope shit on there man

I don't rely on google to tell me which mixtapes are good.
And stannery/stanning = being a fanboy of an artist not hatred(ie. Eminem's Stan)
