It's been a shame for 3 season mate choked against Roma and then Liverpool and hammered by Bayern it just gets worse

This is going to become more common. La Liga quality has been going down for a while now. A lot of good La Liga players and coaches have been poached by other leagues you wouldn't even think a while back. The arrival of state-owned European clubs, the amount of money spent by EPL teams, poor distribution of La Liga TV rights and the economic situation in Spain is to blame.

Of course I don't need to tell someone who watches Serie A. Exactly the same situation in Italy.

God God I am surprised but not surprised at the same time. No need to quote my prediction in cheap vintage GL fashion for we all knew the sheer disparity between these teams. I will once again reinstate I cannot remember the last time Messi was a big game player and whomever makes him out to be a victim is just plain silly given he does not drag his team to victory as Kommander does often.

Congratulations to all Bayern fans on the forum. Each time Bayern does this I seeth envy such a pristinely run and glorious club they can be but I cannot find myself to truly dote upon them for once again, that is what football brings in me. Envy.

to be fair, he did create every chance the team had. ofcourse he isnt the 2010 or 2017 beast he was, but he is still the best in the world. the best passer, the best finisher, the best dribbler. the quantity is just a lot less. even so, griez's goal against napoli was the first non-messi goal in like 5 years (outside the group stage)

Setien is an idealist and lives within his own head, fit for minnows. Not a big club. Brilliant man either way but must take responsibility for this.

The board are going to blame it all on Setién now? They should sack themselves first if anything.

Wouldn't agree on Setien being an idealist. The guy gave up his ideas a few weeks in. It's a classic case of a midtable coach who has nice ideas but gives them up the second pressure starts to mount at a big club. We see it all the time.

Setién is not a bad coach, but agreed he certainly wasn't made for this club at all. I don't think any Barcelona fan here expected any different. Everything about the managerial change was wrong. The fact that the board stuck with Valverde after his Roma and Liverpool blunders at the end of the season, but sacked him with 8 matches to go cause he lost a Mickey Mouse trophy in Saudi land says a lot about how clueless they are. It is borderline conspiracy theory material tbh

To be honest Lascia that I do not know of given I have refused to follow Barça for a while now not much of interest remains.

But the example of Setien is what I have gone on about in the form of Gasperini and Sarri or other old men idealists who piss their pants when entering the gates of an actual relevant club.
