Can’t believe my son scored. Should get all of Lucas’s minutes.

Lucas ending the game with the most atrocious set of dribbling ever was too much for me

Lucas actually has me believing if I were born across the pond, I could have had a legit shot as a professional footballer.

i liked the fact we rested the starters as we have a tougher game coming up, and that we got a valued 3 points from this. jovic isn't trying to live up to anything by the media or fans nonsense. he is a striker, every striker wants to score, and anyone who doesn't should play midfield. it comes with the territory, as a cf when you havent scored you want to open your account.  he knows he has his work cut out for him, see the first ever post i made when we signed him. its the nature of the game at a club like madrid, and i'm sure he expected such pressures before signing. work hard in training and do any talking on the pitch with any minutes you get. it is the simplest solution to any pressures and also the most difficult

at least he is getting minutes, i didn't expect him to start today. now its up to him to take advantage of said minutes. that's not on the fans nor media, its just the way the cookie crumbles

I actually liked his contribution. How to put it, it was industrious and honestly, that VAR decision was ridiculous (correct but ridiculous). He knows he needs to open his account, this ain't Fernando "my job isn't to score" Torres sort of attitude. He's a striker and knows what a striker needs to do.

Basically, I believe in the young man. If he sucks, well, club would cut their losses and sign someone else. Part and parcel with Real Madrid.

VAR shouldn't be able to annul offside goals if the ref can't see the offside with his eyes.

The rule needs altering. It's against the spirit of the rule to be that nitpicky about it.

Kroos was great in this game. Controlled everything.

The midfield was great. Valverde added the energy and athleticism needed. Which allowed Kroos and Casemiro to play their game.

i agree with this, and even if it was against my team, i'd still agree with the idea.

really happy for Vinicius, he is the kind of kid that wears his emotions on his sleeves. The goal meant a lot for him and he showed it. Hopes it helps for the remainder of the season.

Really happy with Militao in this match, also the confidence in Rodrygo and that celebration to take a bow like that. I would like to see him get more minutes.

No need to open a new thread, just update the last one. Good game of football, Osasuna did not disappoint with how they come at Madrid and, not surprisingly, Madrid came right back at them. Good game.

Except Bale who might as well stayed at home.

Great reaction after going a goal down. They were all excellent bar Bale and Benz. Bale plays half arsed. There is a reason why Lucas always plays. If one is honest, all his competitors are inferior to him including Bale

Nice reaction to the CDR defeat. Almost everybody played well which is a good thing.

In big games though, we'll struggle a lot for goals because our attack is not really reliable.

We need a reliable goalscorer, that's for certain.

One can always count on Ramos and Casemiro to score important goals but we need more output from our attackers who are in hibernation it seems

P.S - to reply to all the Lucas Vasquez hate

despite being barelyyyyy an average player with no special skill set, he is probably the fittest (in terms of Stamina Engine) in the team, right after Valverde.

Him and Valvarde simply do NOT get tired.

Mendy being 3rd after them.

It's not hate when it's justified. I admire his high work rate and stamina, but he's below par in pretty much everything else.

I wouldn't mind having him as a substitute, but he's really not good enough to be a starter.

Madrid should do something about it this summer btw because when Lucas is your best player in that position, something is wrong.

Though something is really wrong that Lucas, despite all his limitations, still is our only RW that can produce something decent on a consistent basis.

Agreed...  although it's not "something decent".  It is just better than playing with 10 men which is what we often end up doing. He at least understands the geography and work rate although he has no footballing skills whatsoever.

FYI,

Massive Deja Vu

.... But.... we used to treat Callejon the same way we treat Lucas Vasquez now.

..... Callejon has been great for Napoli for years now.

Don’t disrespect Callejon. He was much better than Lucas. And had great hair

The disrespect displayed to Lucas is laughable. The baller lacks talent but any actual manager out there, and not some keyboard warrior, would appreciate a player that when he enters the field gives 110% for the cause and does exactly what he is told to do. Not many teams benefit from having true soldiers like Lucas (or Nacho) in their ranks. Guy cost 1m, commands average wages and has had a massive contribution in our title winning seasons. Give him a break, the man gives his breath every time he’s out there

I couldn’t care less about having soldiers.

Give me footballers. I’m trying to win games not conquer an oil state.

Brahim Diaz is the best player we have on the RW tbh.

the guy has got to be the best dribbler in the team... after Hazard

on par with Vini.

I agree completely, Z has to give Brahim more minutes to grow into his shoes

he’s quick, technical and two-footed, it would be a shame if he doesn’t get more chances
