We should have stuck with the 4-2-2-2. Our passing was poor today and we couldn't really deal with their pressing and high line.

Poor game from the team today, Di Maria had an off game once again, he's been in terrible form lately, Higuain was no better, he'll be back to the bench for the next match.

Kaka's two yellow cards are the harshest double yellow cards you'll see in football that's probably his first career red cards and it came as a sub.

Albiol shouldn't play for Real Madrid again, he's a fraud. He was the worst player by far on the pitch today. All in all the team really missed Ronaldo and Marcelo, the role the two play in the current setup can't be over estimated.

Time to move on to Tuesday's Copa Del Rey against Valencia. I hope the boys put on a better show. We need to win the Copa this season.

Considering the amount of talent in this team I cringe at the way they regularly resort to hoofing the ball anywhere towards the opposition goal.

Jose is doing an awful job overall at Madrid, surely Madrid fans can't be happy watching this rubbish considering all the money they have spent on world class players?

Mourinho can be blamed for some of the teams flaws this season but I think a lot of other factors have contributed to Madrid's poor form, injuries and suspension have meant players like Essien playing LB and Albiol playing CB. Many players have also been off form from Casillas to Di Maria.

On the game itself the lack of control should largely be put on the GK, CB and the wingers today. Casillas kept hoofing the ball all night, Varane and Albiol joined the party. Di Maria lost the ball so many times, and Callejon couldn't do much either.

The team should have won though, Higuain had the GK in no man's land but did nothing with the ball, Coentrao had two clear chances which he should have buried, the match could easily have ended in a different scoreline.

Real Madrid manager, Jose Mourinho stated that no one was a fault for his side’s 0-0 draw with then league worst, Osasuna at the Reyno de Navarro on Saturday evening, but was uncertain if goalkeeper, Iker Casillas would start against Valencia in their next match, despite keeping a clean sheet.

In his post-match press conference, Mourinho liked the attitude of the team and praised his makeshift defence, but was not certain about the future of Casillas between the sticks.

“I won’t talk about casualties but we’ve had players injured for a month or two. I’m not going to make excuses. I liked the attitude of the team. I think there were players who played a great game. I think Coentrao and Albol had a great game and deserve mention because they have not played for a long time due to their injuries. They returned in a very demanding game and played very well.

“I do not want to explain anything, but this began in the early rounds. A lot of things happened that I do not want to talk about because it is not worth. Then, when one sees he is not under pressure and one sees that he will not get there … It’s a matter of motivation.

“It’s not easy to create chances here, although I think we had enough to score. I liked Casillas’ game against Celta, today he barely had a chance to touch the ball, but in both matches he played, the defensive played well. It’s still too early to decided if Casillas will start against Valencia.”

its obvious that the team is playing for the copa del rey and the champions league.

if we wanted to win this game we could have but I think that the staff and players know that their is no way back in la liga, so why push to their limits. this is just my opinion.

Mourinho and his staff know that if they win the copa del rey and at least be a champions league finalist, it will be dubbed a great season by many.

About the game. Albiol may not be the best centre back, but he didnt cost us the game today. the tactics did. coentrao was good.

i dont knw why modric was playing so deep and khedira was the attacking midfielder. why not just start kaka and modric if you want to rest ozil for the cup match. or at least play some youth team players who would at least been motivated to play. morata, cherychev etc.

dont know why di maria doesnt switch wings during the game. he plays much better on the left.

This is crap tbh. The line is so thick and over Calejon knee and only touching the leg of Osasunas' player. To my surprise the ref was spot on on this call, though this could have gone either way.

Just for info, As.com once erased a complete player just to make a point in RM favor. Afterwards, when they appeared in other newspapers for how biased and stupid they are, they said it was a problem with their editing tool.

nah callejon was off. even in the picture you can tell that jose almost crosses the 'offside' line while the opposing players are barely touching it.

The line is as thick as any used on most TV networks to determine whether a player is off or not, Callejon was in line with the right centre back from the images and cm off the player closest to him.

Osasuna could have been first to be a man down when a player of theirs on a yellow tackled terribly from behind but Kaka instead received one of the harshest sending offs you'll ever see. Not claiming any bias whatsoever, the officials were as incompetent as they've been all season. Osasuna also had some shady offside decisions against them too.

this offside debate should not even be happening.

osasuna are bottom of the league. we have so many highly paid players and staff in the team. we should have created much more chances. some of which we would have taken.

Its really sad that we have to be arguing about this one chance. Its the only clear cut chance we had against a really poor side.

on the di maria, he is a good player. yes he is annoying at times, but i think 70% of his poor display is down to poor tactics.

play the guy on the left for a change, play him on his stronger foot. anybody who has seen him play on his stronger side would see that he is much more comfortable there. running into the box and beating players.

First yellow card was harsh though the second was very deservable and Kaka knew it. Couldn't believe when all these Madrid fans were claiming the second yellow card was pathetic because its in the law. 'Failure to respect the required distance when play is restarted with a corner kick, free kick or throw-in.' Kaka had no intention of moving away from the freekick... Kicker waited and waited and after a few seconds, he had sick of it and kicked into him. That play was deservable of a second yellow.

personally i think the second was a bit harsh because rule you are siting is when a player is encroaching after the ref gives 10 yards (and even then how often is that carded)

the opposing player kicked the ball into kaka to draw the yellow, its not like he kicked it into kaka because thats where he was going to kick it. purely done to get a player ejected.

not that im saying kaka wasnt in the wrong, he was (hes already on a yellow why go anywhere near the kick) im just saying it was harsh.

Got to see the replay again but as a professional referee, if a player is making no effort to move away, the opposition are entitled to kick the ball at him and the referee can say that in order for play to move on and for the player to be warned to move out of the way.
Anyone can post a video of the incident...
