Real Madrid UCL Group Stage 2019
I'd figured it'd be more organized if we put our group stage campaign under one post. If that doesn't work then i'll just rename this post PSG vs Real Madrid
Anyway
REAL MADRID'S SQUAD LIST:
Goalkeepers: Courtois, Arreola and Altube.
Defenders: Carvajal, Militão, Varane, Odriozola, Mendy and De la Fuente.
Midfielders: Kroos, Casemiro and James.
Attackers: Hazard, Benzema, Bale, Lucas V, Jović, Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo.
Modric, Isco, Marcelo and Valverde all out due to injuries. Ramos and Nacho are suspended
I'm excited to see this potential lineup
Thibu
Carvajal Varane Milltao Mendy
Kroos Casemiro
Bale James Hazard
Benzema
PSG will be missing all 3 starting attackers. A win here will put us in great position for the group stage and give us momentum for the tough 2 games coming ahead in La Liga (Sevilla and Atletico)
Hopefully no one gets injured.

Re: Real Madrid UCL Group Stage 2019
We'll probably continue with the 433 but i don't think Hazard will start just yet. Think it'll be Bale and Lucas to start with Hazard coming on later on. We NEED a win. We have a very tough September month and a win here will do wonders for our connfidence.
Not happy that Ramos isn't with us as he's the only leader in defence but Benzema's form right now is amazing and if Bale can continue to be pissed, we might bag a few goals. Blessing in disguise that Marcelo is unavailable because Mendy is a must in tough away games

Re: Real Madrid UCL Group Stage 2019
Hazard will start; Zidane almost confirmed it in his presser.
Also, not trying to put any pressure on the team, but PSG is playing without Mbappé, Cavani and Neymar. There's really no excuse to lose or even draw this game.
I realize we have a very bad goalkeeper so a clean sheet is maybe out of the question. However, the three points should be a straightforward affair against this depleted and toothless PSG. No excuses.

«No Pogba, no party» feels like it could be the excuse of the season

Re: Real Madrid UCL Group Stage 2019
Di Maria, Icardi and Choupo-Moting are likely forwards loool.
midfield of Verratti-Herrera-Gueye is good however. Marquinhos is also back.
But I agree.... PSG is missing their 3 best players so we have a chance to win. They still do have talent and we're playing in Paris.
A draw is a good result too imo.

I have a low opinion of PSG so I am immediately bias (along with being a Madrid fan). That being said, they could still beat us, easily too. Need the big game performers to really perform today.

PSG have only scored twice against us even with that front trident. Let's not overrate this team. I know we have a terrible goalie but even that shouldn't stop us from winning this game

I definitely do not overrated them but Di Maria, Icardi and Veratti can punish us if we are slack and we are very much capable of such things.

Re: Real Madrid UCL Group Stage 2019
We should be able to win, but I don't take it for granted that we will. I had completely forgotten that they have Icardi now. If any of Di Maria, Icardi or Veratti are on form, I imagine we'll face some issues. I've watched Icardi score too many goals while feeding on scraps, to rule out the possibility that they definitely won't outscore us.

They have Navas too... he'll probably play out of his mind against us.

Infinity, which is 1000 times less than the number of mistakes our dearly beloved goalie is about to make in this game

Re: Real Madrid UCL Group Stage 2019
Having a gk that you can't depend on really affects CBs btw. You play on your heels and can't be aggressive because you feel that you have no cover.
Changes the entire defending mentality.
