Re: The Bundesliga Thread 19/20
Perhaps there is something to be said for the quiet, serenity of ghost games on hungover, long weekend Sunday morning, while sipping coconut oil coffee.
It actually sounds louder to me in Koln then it did in Dortmund?
Have the Bavarians traveled to Berlin, or are they following the rules for non essential travel?
Interesting numbers for the Haaland, who of course scored the first goal of Covid football. And by interesting I mean he is the next greatest of all time striker in the universe. Assuming we all live for another year.
Austria (League+Cup): 16 matches / 20 goals / 6 assists
Germany (League+Cup): 10 / 11 / 3
Champions League: 8 / 10 / 1
One goal every:
61 minutes (Austria) / 60 minutes (Germany) / 55 minutes (Champions League)
One goal/assist every:
45 minutes (Austria) / 46 minutes (Germany) / 50 minutes (Champions League)
Already in third place in the race for the Golden Boot despite playing half a season in a league with a lower factor.

Hans must be thrilled that he can go watch his beloved Bayern live in person in Berl...Oh, yeah. I cant help but think Berliners are congregating somewhere watching this game, somehow. Looks like a strong lineup for bayern, but they do have Boateng starting, so i like Union's chances. Kanadians will be happy to see Davies is starting.

Re: The Bundesliga Thread 19/20
More due to slowness and rustiness than maliciousness, Subotic gives away the penalty that Lewandowski converts, poorly taken kick in my opinion.
The smaller the stadium the less weird the Ghost games seem. The game in the giant Dortmund stadium, that fits 82000 fans, just seemed weird, meanwhile it is not as bad in the tiny Union Berlin stadium, or maybe I am just getting used to the lack of fan noise. Still think the way to watch the games is with the sound off and Nina Hagen blaring on the stereo.
Bayern at times playing with 9 attackers, Davies playing as an outside left.

Could only watch the last 30 minutes, and I'm still deeply conflicted about the whole affair of continuing football like that already, but I can't deny it made me happy to watch my team play

Leverkusen up 2-1 away to Bremen after one hour played
Havertz, who's actually playing in the CF position tonight, with both goals
and it's 1-3, another header, this time by Weiser, and another assist by an excllent Diaby

Bremen need to sack their coach or they're surely going down. He's got lot of promise but they need a change.

Blocking of the league 'd have benefited to them , I don't have idea how they could get saved now

Yes, based on tonight's evidence it's bleak. They were poor in quality, and they were weak in challenges. Fatal combination.

They probably looked even worse than they did before the Covid shut down. Maybe the one chance is to get a Felix Magath type in for the remainder of the season , but no it is over and looking like the 2nd division is calling.

You think you wouldn't have been behaving exactly the same as all those men in the photograph were you born during the same period of time?

At best, you wouldnt be saying or doing anything about it. Statistically speaking, its almost impossible that you wouldve been one of the Schindlers of the time.

Well , you' re Polish and so you should know that for example Poland had the biggest Resistance movement of the whole Europe ( superior even to Italy, where Resistenza Partigiana was relevant too ), Armia Krajowa is glorious history.
So yes, of course there was also brave and righteous people ready to fight for freedom

Re: The Bundesliga Thread 19/20
It's a stereotypical question, one I've been asked, and that I've asked myself, hundreds of times.
And I've given myself your answer many times, obviously, but honestly, it's a boring truism.
Who are you to tell me what I would have been if I had been someone else?
And what's the point? If the point is not to point a finger, because "you would have done the same", then the answer is a clear:
No. I will point a finger. I wouldn't have done the same, based on the simple evidence that I have not done anything comparable.

390k people in AK and the entire population was 35 million. That's 1% of all people. I probably wouldnt be part of the 1%. I'd be just a spectator most likely.
Besides i'm talking about nazi Germany, not Poland. Hitler wasnt our leader so it's different, we were the ones in a defensive position.
You should read Ordinary Men by Browning. These were just regular folks just like me and you turned into cold-blooded murderers.
