Hail to the EPL
Great fighting spirit. Great league.
I eat my crow gladly. Football is alive. I hated the same ole same ole. Now the rest of Europe will need to compete.

They have the best coaches and the most money to buy the top players. It's only natural they translate that to European dominance.

That's it, I hope the LaLiga teams enjoyed their short European dominance while it last because football is coming home #EPLdominance#Brexit4life

It took some time but I think we are in for a dominance akin to Serie A "back in the day".

Meanwhile city about to get 100 points
Toughest league indeed.
All top teams in other leagues level have gone down that is why EPL teams are able to compete again.

The good ol " you're not really good, the others suck ". The sort of circular logic that every hater uses in an attempt to diminish other teams' accomplishments.

Let me know how known spenders Tottenham are in the final lol, hell fucking Ajax made the Semis.
If it was about money PSG Vs City would be the final. Such a short sighted and lazy argument.
I expect better from Cascia tbh.

Re: Hail to the EPL
looks like city and PSG will win the titles with squads that cost close to 2billion pounds. and juve have won the title after being the richest club in italy. bayern will win the title as the richest club in germany. barca and madrid have dominated football in spain because they can out buy any team in the lge. in scotland the 2 rich teams have won all the titles for god knows how long. ajax the rich team in holland are the big boys that win most things. have i left anyone out.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Unique wrote:i agree. you have the money and you get the best managers and the best players. forget what mole says football is all about the money now.Casciavit wrote:They have the best coaches and the most money to buy the top players. Re: Hail to the EPL
It's a little different for PSG. They don't play in a league that, by itself, has great viewership and will attract interest. They need to sign stars so that the squad itself generates viewership and interest. EPL is a brand. Ligue 1 is not obviously.
You can't compare. PSG had no choice. For any club in Ligue 1 to compete at an elite level, they need to use some variation of PSG's model until such time that Ligue 1 develops a brand (which will be never happen on both counts).

You have a point but let us not pretend like this has not aided the improvement of English sides performances in Europe.
Friendly reminder that Liverpool spent the most money in Europe last summer.

Re: Hail to the EPL
Ability to attract the best coaches from all over the world:
Pochettino (La Liga), Klopp (Bundesliga), Guardoila (La Liga), Emery (La Liga), Sarri (Serie A), Nuno (La Liga), Pellegrini (La Liga).
Ability to attract top players (apart from against Real Madrid, PSG, Barcelona and maybe Juventus).
Ability to attract the best scouts: Specifically scouting in South America which was non-existent in EPL 15 years ago.
Best facilities: only Germany have similar facilities in terms of quality.
Consistent fan base: stadiums are always full which means better atmosphere and more matchday revenue for the clubs. Went to watch Atlético vs Valencia a couple of weeks ago and the stadium was almost empty ffs. You get packed stadiums even for Championship matches in England.
In other words money talks in creating consistent improvements to the league. Mole mentioned Ajax but wait til next year when half their team and possibly coach is gone (again, for money) and they will get eliminated in the group stages as usual.

Re: Hail to the EPL
The PSG model being to be bought up by an oil-rich State?
Also, I see what Mole is trying to say though he really cannot keep rejecting the money side. The EPL has reached this position through proper planning and foresight and the clubs have benefited from it. Would it last? Probably not but at the moment, this is just things falling into place nicely.

It's not me that see's everything in black and white lol, it's everyone else who think money > all mantra.
There's way more to it than that, BTW that same Liverpool only did so because Barca thought it was smart to spend 120m on Coutinho.
I just don't want to hear these money excuses when Spurs didn't spend a single penny last summer and befor that weren't exactly lavish spenders in fees or wages.

Re: Hail to the EPL
Spurs didn't spend but Liverpool did. So did City, Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea. Money has played a major part in their squad building but money is just a tool that is only good as the people who has it.
Also, that 120m from Coutinho certainly was spent after Van Dijk and Allison. Guessing that Solanke and Ward money helped fully fund the Keita and Fabinho transfers.

Re: Hail to the EPL
Please come and tell me that money being the primary factor is a 'lazy argument' when the Spurs' and Ajax's of the world consistently dominate CL. Then you would have a point.
Liverpool wouldn't have got to another back to back CL final had they not spent a world record sum for a CB last January, a world record fee for a GK while keeping their best assets over the summer.
In one thread you lowkey bash Unique when he complains about City's spending by saying 'all the top teams spend a lot of money anyway ' now you're telling me that Pool spent money only because they sold Coutinho. Atleast try to be consistent.

PL doesn't consistently dominate either, by this logic they should have been dominating for years now lol.
