Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion Part III
I said it with humour and a pinch of salt tbh. He is an intelligent poster but when he calls me who has followed Laporte for a long time the finest specimen of ignorance then I can call him out.
Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion Part III
In the end there is no real way to debate on the objective talent and value of a player given all the constants and variables. I simply do not agree with you of when he was in Athletic given how he was used, and the value he did add to the defence along with Athletic without him and his CB parters, nor do I agree about him within City given he plays in a very demanding CB role even if City dominate possession. That statement whilst it applies to players, does not directly to Laporte himself.
Deschamps like some national team coaches are not the pillar of reason to argue on their choices given many national team coaches good or bad consistently make questionable choices. Laporte also is not favoured due to his autonomous views.
Aside from that I usually am in harmony with your views.
Last part ripped me though Good one

Yh i disagree with the very notion of international managers picks being a measuring stick of quality tbh.

Regarding this.
I think the team is pretty spot on other than Pogba, Fernandinho and Ederson.
I would personally replace Pogba with Hazard, Fernandinho with Neves and Ederson with Fabianski

Ask the players.
But neither have had performances that Fabianski has put in for West Ham.

I lost a lot of respect for him when he intentionally broke the leg, and subsequently ended the career of my fellow countryman, Alf HÃ¥land. That was probably the most cowardly and cynical thing I've ever seen in football, and I think Roy would have to be on the receiving end of such treatment, in order to realize how fucking stupid that was, regardless of whether or not he intended to actually end his career. That said, HÃ¥land was never a saint either.
I do admire Roy's no bullshit attitude, and he was a great player for club and country (bar the drama between him and the management). The current Man United team would've benefited from having an old school, senior like him to keep them on their toes. But yeah.. he was a massive bellend, as well

I want Liverpool to win it as much as everyone else but it’s over. The fraud always manages to dominate the league like a little shit and there’s no way of stopping it.

Just reminding everyone that ever since Nick joined the Pool to win PL train, Pool started to do nonsense.

Yes.
God knows I'm not a huge Hazard fan but this season he has been at his very considerable best and absolutely deserves to be in there ahead of Pogba.
Fernandinho, no way. Not sure if Neves really was all that, but if not Wijnaldum deserves it more than Fernandinho.
GK, Mathew "with one t Mathew" Ryan seems to have been pretty good.

Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion Part III
I'm happy to see someone else on this forum appreciates the industrious Georginio Wijnaldum
Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion Part III
Wijnaldum's all right, but no way team of the season material. Him, Henderson and Milner are basically solid role players without being difference makers.
Don't think Fernandinho deserves to be there, either, would replace him with Eriksen or Sigurdsson.
