You're finishing 8th in a shit league. Sit down clown. Imagine being beaten to the CL spots by Atalanta. Fucking Atalanta. Unreal.

So Mourinho wasn't really joking or exaggerating when he said finishing 2nd with this team was one of his greatest achievements....

I honestly don't know. Naglesmann would have been my first choice but he's joining Leipzig. Maybe we could take a chance on Tuchel if he's kicked out of PSG.
Looking at the coaches we could realistically hire, I feel like a lot of them are cautious and I probably wouldn't enjoy them. For example, I look in the Premier League and see Javi Gracia, Rafa Benitez, Nuno Santo and Ralph Hassenhuttl, who are all good coaches, but maybe not the sort of coach Arsenal needs at the moment.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the top 4 race is settled, isn't it?
If we rule out an 10 goal swing between Arsenal and Spurs on the one remaining match day, which we can, Chelsea and Spurs have qualified.
Arsenal can get CL if they win the EL.

so if arsenal win the EL does that mean 4th place team misses out on UCL.Hapless_Hans wrote:iftikhar wrote:Would Spurs hang on to Poch, Kane, Ali, Eriksson or Son if they don't qualify for CL?

No.
5 teams are allowed in the CL but not 6.
Since no non-top 4 team is winning the CL from england. It's impossible to have 6 despite Arsenal winning the EL.

Yeah. That would only happen if both the CL and the EL winner would not make top 4.

Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion Part III
Depends on who are cup winners i think
City won LC so if they win FA Cup 7th get a chance otherwise Watford themselves (if they win it)

Re: 2018/2019 Premier League Discussion Part III
It goes like this:
The top four get CL.
Only 5th place in the league is an EL spot. The other two spots are allocated to the Carabao Cup and FA Cup winners. However, if those winners occupy a European spot (i.e. 1-5), then it goes to the next best placed team. Hence, 6th and 7th are usually EL spots because the big teams tend to win the domestic cups.
If an English team wins the EL and finish outside of the top four, then England has 5 teams in the CL. If they win the EL and finish top four, then only four teams go into the CL and the extra CL spot goes to the highest ranked association that only has three CL spots (in this case, France). If the EL winners finish 5th, then 6th place in the league becomes an EL spot.
If the CL and EL winners are both English and both finish outside the top four, then fourth place becomes an EL place instead of a CL place.
So as it stands, the top six are guaranteed European football next season. Arsenal need to win the EL for their to be five teams in the CL next year. If City win the FA Cup, then Wolves will be in the EL along with United.
