The car chase on the freeway in Mike's Ferrari, the shootout in the house with the Rastas, the dance moves on the bodega owner, Marcus high on coke.....so many awesome scenes in that movie. I don't think it recaptured the magic of the original, but as an action movie in general, I have no complaints.

Tokyo Story (1953)
How can a film with such a simple story be portrayed with overwhelming complexities? I am a sucker for films that hides multiple themes and symbolism in a film without exaggerating them. This one perhaps has the best example. The characters and their individual motives and rationale. How much you can relate to each generation and how none of the character was actually presented as an antagonist but just as a complicated human being that we are. It's in incredibly moving film. Some of the scenes are breathtakingly good. I don't think i have seen this style of direction before. The camera placement throughout the film was unique and fresh. There are so many scenes in the film that i think will stay with me forever. That scene with the grandmother and the grandchild out in the fields. The scene between Noriko and Kyoko in the end. That scene between Shukichi and Tomi down by the sea complimented by the mellow soundtrack. The entire film has extremely slow pace but the way it delivers in the end is remarkable.
It's so easy to tell why it's regarded as one of the greatest films of all time.

Scarface (1983)
When it comes to gangster films or mob films, this wasn't really that great. It almost felt like a parody at times. However what was great was Al Pacino's performance. That iconic scene at the restaurant. Lord Incredible acting.
Good watch though. I mean I am glad i finally watched it.

First look at Russell Crowe as former Fox News Chief Roger Ailes - https://people.com/tv/russell-crowe-roger-ailes-showtime/
He looks pretty much spot on, I'd say.

Finally watched The Florida Project. Loved it. Some trully enchanting performances too. Cant believe the film got overlooked for the major awards especially considering pretentious craps like Shape of Water won big.

Bland as all hell. Good god it was generic.
Only good thing was the live aid reconstruction at the end. Which is better to watch on YouTube anyways.
Also the Brian May dude nailed his personality to a T

Rami Malek sounds, looks and acts like a corpse.
That’s not Freddie Mercury.
He’s basically playing Freddie Mercury as Eddie Redmayne in the Danish Girl but as a corpse.

Same. It was way too PG also. But hey, gay kissing in a PG13 movie is a step up.
Sacha Baron Cohen would just have been so much better all around ffs

Widows (2018)
What I really liked about the film is that it wasn't a generic heist film. Much more than that. I thought the first act wasn't great though but the final act makes up for it. It delivers in the end. Viola Davies is excellent in this. Overall it's a good watch. I haven't seen 12 years a slave but I'd say this is a decent addition to that for McQueen
He has an interesting directing style. Specially the camera work (you'll notice it straight away). Crafty and intelligent. I liked how he kept the score to a minimum and used it when it was really required.
PS: Elizabeth Debicki is a giantess ffs. It's so funny seeing her with others. Almost comical.
PS II: Just found out Colin Farrel was in it. rip.
7.8/10

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
Outlaw King
If you want to see it as a sequel of Braveheart, it's only that given their historical order and that's about it. Very different movies. I did like the little callback they threw in by casting James Cosmo, who was also in Braveheart.
This one was good though, but not the epic it was aiming to be. This is far too much history to try and re-enact in 2 hours given Robert the Bruce's struggle lasted over 10 years. So not much of a surprise that the pacing of the movie was a problem.
That all said, a solid historical action movie, gorgeously shot, and boasted good performances from the leads. Really liked Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Black Douglas in particular. He went on to have quite a life after the events of this movie.
Also - People will look at Stephen Dillane's performance as Edward I and see Stannis Baratheon, but I actually saw an arcehtype for the character GRRM creates named Tywin Lannister. Never noticed the similarities between the 2 before watching this movie.

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
It was initially half an hour longer. But it was not paced well at all so he improved it a lot by cutting it down apparently

Re: The Movie House - Part 11
Yeah I figured as much. Part of me wanted it to be longer so that the pace does slow and more of the history explained, but that's not what the aim was I suppose.

Sorry To Bother You (2018)
I saw a trailer for this movie I think when I went to see Infinity War? Liked the premise and cast and so I saw it...
If any of you do acid, it might be a good idea to watch this film while tripping.
Its surreal, hilarious, scary, has really good acting (Armie Hammer is the highlight) and really made me think about the movie after the credits rolled. Subverts expectations a lot, do yourself a favor if you watch it, don't look up stuff just watch it blindly. Probably my favorite of the year but not saying much since I saw like three other movies this year.

I was about to say it doesn't, before even watching the trailer.
Surprisingly it doesn't look like the worst thing ever.
