Juventus 2018-19 Serie A & Coppa Italia

No hype for me off these preseason matches. If there is one thing I've learned over the years, it's that preseason is meaningless. With that being said, it is always nice to see the youth players shine on any stage.

Right now, I'm most hype for Cancelo, Can and Caldara** very exciting profiles

Looks like our starting 11 is virtually set:

In short: we improved the attack, midfield and defence

AC Milan is always asking from Juventus players to teach their team how to play football

first their defenders with Bonnuci
now their forwards with Higuain
next season their midfielders with Pjanic

Looking at their team last year it was like Sturaro teached them how to play football

Yep looks great but Costa is way more useful played wide.

Good thing is that we can change formation how we want as we do have the right players now and with Bonucci back we can play with 3 CB.

The new BBC (Benatia-Bonucci-Chiellini) looks rock solid and we get to keep Rugani.

Also, we won against the MLS All Stars yesterday on penalties (1-1) after 90 minutes. Favilli scored [again].

That's pretty close to our first choice defense/midfield so its nice that these players are getting significant minutes together in preseason.

I do believe Emre Can is going to slide into this team perfectly

Bernardeschi as our only first choice attacker in preseason is also interesting to see. He was playing the floating Dybala role yesterday, he looked good in the first half.

The 3-4-3 fixes a lot of things for tough games imo.

Playing Sandro and Cancelo in a back 4 doesn't sound great defensively. We've already seen Max prefer Asamoah and play Sandro further forward. Same with Alves who was only doing well without defending too much. Allegri has gone with a back 3 plenty of times for this reason. In a back 4 we are more likely to see De Sciglio with 1 of those 2.

Gives Bonucci license to work his magic with the ball.

With a CB in the center it helps the midfield keep control, as well as win aerial duels (we know Max likes Khedira for his height). Also frees Pjanic more.

Makes use of our 5 CBs.

Any of the front 3 can be changed with Mandzukic, while Cuadrado can play RWB, and Costa can be moved LWB to go all out attack. Spinazzola too is a WB, when he is back.

I think it will be a common option specially for big games. A formation that makes us solid defensively, minimizes the problems in our midfield, and lets the wide players and forwards loose.

He's been great in every game this preseason, you can easily tell he's the only first team attacker. I expect big things from him this season as I feel he is someone who should really benefit from having a season at Juve under his belt

Cancelo looks like a trainwreck at LW

Benatia and Szczesny combining a if they know Bonucci and Perin will be benching them momentarily

Chiellini, for the second or third time, pressing DEEP into Real Madrid's half. I guess he doesn't like the effort our attackers are showing without the ball

Don't give a shit-ical sounds about right. Only two 3 that seem to care are Chiellini, Bernardeschi and Favilli

This Mattheus Pereira kid has some hype. Him and Fagioli. Will be cool if we see them in Juve B.

13 more minutes than I expected them to play well for to be honest. We only have one first team attacker and it shows, not that these matches are for anything but fitness

Well, that's the end of our preseason.

Wrapped up with a 3-1 loss to Real Madrid, they were the much better team for 80% of the match

Now the lads will go back to Torino and meet up with the rest of the group: Cristiano, Dybala, Cuadrado, Bonucci, Bentancur, Mandzukic, Douglas Costa, etc.

Since the Super Cup isn't until January (hate this shit), the next time we see the lads will be away to Chievo and it will be for real

These US tours are pretty terrible for preseason preparation. Looking forward to starting the season even more sluggish than usual.

Still extremely excited for the season start, against Chievo of all teams.

Hope we smash Lazio in game 2.
